They say you can’t teach height. While that might be true, you still need the talent to back it up.
The combination will make anyone tough to beat. The following prospects have both and are only getting better. You can view part one and part two by clicking here.
Let’s look into this list...part three!
[player_tooltip player_id="217668" first="Gianna" last="Corbitt"] - Blanche Ely
[player_tooltip player_id="217668" first="Gianna" last="Corbitt"] was a contributing factor when she played for Miami Country Day as an eight grader. The 6-foot-1 forward/wing averaged 7.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor back in 2019-2020. Injuries have since limited her time on the court with Blanche Ely. However, Corbitt will be a major factor when she is healthy. The Tigers have a versatile defender that can guard an opponents two-four. Corbitt is also strong around the paint and can get out in transition for buckets. Her overall athleticism is impressive at this stage of her career. Therefore, she probably has as much upside as any prospect in her class. Corbitt received an offer from UTEP back in late March. Member of Team Knight.
[player_tooltip player_id="244132" first="Izabella" last="Molina"] - Doral Academy
Molina could be the best pure center in this area right now. The 6-foot-3 post prospect averaged 6.8 points and 9.7 rebounds while shooting 43 percent from the floor last season. Molina was simply dominate on both sides of the paint with 224 rebounds (96 offensive). Against Mater Lakes Academy, she had seven points and a season-high 15 rebounds. Moreover, she added ten or more boards in a dozen other games. Molina’s scoring high was a 19-point effort against Homestead. She also finished with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds against Westminster Christian. I would like to see her work on her free-throw shooting (41 percent) and overall offensive efficiency. Those are both areas that can improve over time. However, Molina has a word of talent given her size and power.
[player_tooltip player_id="91559" first="Jordana" last="Codio"] - Montverde Academy
I am highlighting Codio here after her successful career with American Heritage - Delray. The 6-foot-1 guard/forward averaged 14.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game across nine games last season for the Stallions. As a freshman, Codio stormed out of the Delray gate after averaging 24 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. She followed that up with 22.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Codio has the size, length and athleticism to be a disruption all over the court. You can really see her skill set being utilized in a multitude of ways at the next level. She recently committed to the University of Texas after decommiting from the University of Wisconsin.
[player_tooltip player_id="243925" first="Taelyn" last="Carey"] - Westminster Academy
Hard to ignore the success of the Carey family as an athletic entity in South Florida. 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="243925" first="Taelyn" last="Carey"] is fully capable of adding to that legacy with two strong years left at Westminster Academy. The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 4.7 points and eight rebounds per game last season for the Lions. Carey will bring a punch in the paint with her size and toughness. You don’t pull down 168 rebounds (68 offensive) without a little edge around the glass. Carey has a chance to rise with a more consistent offensive game. Westminster Academy could be very good (again) if she can average in double-figures.
