Drew Alexander Drew Alexander 5'10" | CG Winston Salem Christian | 2023 NC | Winston Salem Christian
Alexander can play most of the positions on the court. She handles the ball pushing it up the court quickly. One of her signature moves seems to be jump stopping and pulling up for her shot while her defender is still running forward. She can shoot from anywhere on the court, and she doesn’t hesitate taking it all the way to the basket for some points even battling through contact. Her ability to seal off opponents is beneficial when she is scoring from the block. She crashes the boards to grab rebounds, especially on offense going after some second chance opportunities.
Madison Young Madison Young 5'10" | CG Northwest Guilford | 2023 State NC | Northwest Guilford
Young uses her size to play many positions on the court. The lefty can make her way to the basket weaving in and out of her opponents, and she knows how to fight through contact to score some points. Her vision of the court is great as she is able to pass to her teammates for their own buckets even when the defense thinks they are closing in on her. She has a nice shot from all over the court, and she hustles after rebounds for some second chance opportunities.
Cassidy Geddes Cassidy Geddes 5'7" | CG Newton-Conover | 2023 State NC | Newton-Conover
Geddes has been a fun player to watch this spring with her shooting ability. Opposing coaches are constantly getting on their teams to close out on her when she has the ball because of her amazing shot, but truth be told, her quick release makes it hard to get there in time. She can certainly make her way all the way to the basket on her own, too, scoring on all levels. She has a quickness that allows her to jump into passing lanes or even strip the ball from her opponents.
Mia Xerras Mia Xerras 5'6" | CG Myers Park | 2023 State NC | Myers Park
I’ve been able to see Xerras (pictured above) play with her high school and now her grassroots team this spring, and she is certainly one of the most consistent shooters in North Carolina. It doesn’t matter who her opponents are or even how many of her teammates are missing for any particular game for her to show off her automatic shot. She does well serving as a floor general, too, directing her teammates where to go as she finds them making cuts. She moves into the gaps of defenses with and without the ball making sure to have a productive possession no matter what the circumstances are.
Jamyah Blakeney Jamyah Blakeney 5'7" | CG Forest Hills | 2023 State NC | Forest Hills
Blakeney can go coast to coast repetitively in games grabbing steals and pushing them up the court for her teams scoring well in transition. She goes all the way to the basket or pulls up for a jump shot. She is that acrobatic player that makes moves that get the crowd pumped up and in the moment. That also happens when she shows off her shot from downtown. She hustles on defense sliding into position to block shots, too.
