Prep Girls Hoops recently update to the class of 2023 player rankings, we will take a look at the Newcomers to the rankings. We look to add players that have shown some drastic improvements and have the ability to play at the next level.
With the summer AAU session in full swing, there has been a ton of great matchups and talented players here in Missouri on full display. Even though our top 10 is packed with major D1 talent, the body of the rest of the rankings has more than enough talent to play at the next level at the D2, 3, NAIA, or JUCO levels.
Take a look at a few of the Newcomers to the 2023 class rankings!

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="297215" first="Caroline" last="Linberger"] Ι 5’9" SF Ι North Shelby</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A smooth shooting wing forward, Caroline can really shoot the rock from three. A Class 1 All-State selection, she has great basketball instincts and does not make many mistakes on the floor. She can handle the ball in the open floor and really rebounds well on both ends. Caroline is a solid paint area defender and has good timing to block shots.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="297216" first="Bailey" last="Fleming"] Ι 5’9" SG Ι Leeton</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bailey is one of the best pure shooters in the state. She has range out past the three-point line and can create space to get her shot off or knock down shots off the catch and shoot. A Class 1 All-State selection, she has an excellent basketball IQ and really defends well. She is a capable ball-handler with good court vision and anticipates well on defense.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="297220" first="Sara" last="Mendel"] Ι 6’2" SF Ι Ava</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A long and talented wing forward, Sara is a tenacious rebounder on both ends of the floor. She has excellent hands and outstanding footwork in the post area. A Class 4 All-State selection, she runs the floor very well and finishes everything at the rim. Her back to the basket game is elite and she can score over either shoulder. An excellent post defender with a quick first jump to block shots without fouling.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="299155" first="Taylor" last="Montgomery"] Ι 5’9" PG Ι Marquette</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A solid lead guard that can play on or off-ball. Taylor is an elite-level defender with her speed and strength as she anticipates well and causes deflections and steals. She is electric with the rock out in transition and she finishes very well through contact. She plays with another level of intensity, especially on the defensive end. Taylor has great court awareness, vision, and she has a great pace to her game. She is constantly putting pressure on defenses with the rock and she can knock down three-point shots.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="299158" first="Kanise" last="Mills"] Ι 5’6" SG Ι Lift For Life Academy</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A gifted on-ball defender who uses her strength, speed, and quickness to give players problems. Kanise competes at a high level and can finish on the break or through contact. A capable ball-handler, Kanise plays well out in the transition.</li>
