Westlake was able to capture the first Ventura County Regional Championship in the last 26 years over the tough opponent in El Camino of Oceanside. [player_tooltip player_id="162827" first="Mariah" last="Elohim"] scored 21 points and [player_tooltip player_id="103357" first="London" last="Gamble"] had 20 points as the Warriors held off host Oceanside-El Camino, 50-47, in the CIF State Division 2-A Southern California regional final.

Mariah surprised us with her shooting ability, I had heard that she had a nice stroke, but I watched it for myself and witnessed it in this particular game. She has nice size and a great basketball body, but she was capable of handling the ball and getting it to teammates, but when they hit her on the wing it was nothing but splash. Shot maker for sure, give this one a look.

London is not new to us on the PGH California site, she is a player we have covered in numerous articles on our sites. London is a combo guard that can run the point guard, but her real talent is in scoring the ball. She is crafty and quick and has a very nice pull up game from the midrange area and work on more consistent three point shot on the floor. She is a kid to watch and coaches should be tuned in to make the determination on her.
2024, 5’9, SF, Westlake HS, [player_tooltip player_id="267595" first="Lindsay" last="Gould"]
Gould will be making her high school debut this season as a freshman. There are a couple of things that stand out about her. One is that she’s got a solid jump shot with range all the way out the three-point and a very quick release. Another is her court vision, She has a solid feel for the game and has good instincts as a playmaker. She sees the floor and looks to get teammates easy shots. A bit of a combo guard.
2024, 5’9, SG, Westlake HS, [player_tooltip player_id="166830" first="Kate" last="Hackney"]
The best word I could use to describe this young lady is energy. She brings energy to the team and to the game. She handles the ball well and finds the loose ball in most cases. She’s able to read things that other players don’t see. She would be a positive addition to any team because she has a great attitude and works hard. She can shoot the long ball and has a nice mid an inside game. She’s a problem for defenders who don’t have the energy to keep up with her. I would like to see her shoot the mid range shot a lot more. I’d like her to realize when she’s open and make defenders pay.

Elohim also had eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Gamble finished with seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

[player_tooltip player_id="267595" first="Lindsay" last="Gould"] had four points, four rebounds and two steals. Devin Feiereisen added three points and four rebounds, [player_tooltip player_id="166830" first="Kate" last="Hackney"] had two points, six rebounds, two steals and two block
