<p class="p1">The first annual 704 Showdown had a great mix of high school teams competing against one another preparing for next season.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Here were some of the top performers in the class of 2022 from day 2 of the camp.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/06/Mariah-Barrie-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1624918697.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-302580 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/06/Mariah-Barrie-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1624918697-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="219872" first="Mariah" last="Barrie"]</b> (Central Cabarrus, G) knows how to fight for loose balls, and she is aware of where she is on the court to be able to put up the shot.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She knows how to take the ball from coast to coast scoring on fast breaks.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has a wide range of moves including putting defenders on a spin cycle on her way to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She scored three points the old fashioned way battling through contact, and this was after she had grabbed a rebound to take to the other end of the court.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="253895" first="Hudson" last="Rixham"] </b>(Charlotte Country Day, SF, pictured above) uses her length to constantly block passes and shots.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She was constantly knocking the ball away from her opponents grabbing steals to take the other direction for some points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She wasn’t just a threat in the paint as she was showing off her shot from behind the three point line, too.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is persistent when crashing the boards and going after rebounds.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Maya Chocano </b>(Chestnut Park, SF) stands at 6 feet tall and has the ball handling skills of a point<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/06/Maya-Chocano-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1624918750.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-302582 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/06/Maya-Chocano-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1624918750-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> guard making her lethal all over the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She made her way to the basket or stepped back to show off her jump shot.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is a tough defender, too, grabbing the ball right out of her opponents hands or knocking it away for the steal.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She even had a one man press where she herself stopped multiple opponents from getting a pass by her.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="217537" first="Abi" last="Svenson"]</b> (Chestnut Park, G) sees the floor well pushing the ball up the court finding her open teammates running full speed.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is patient when handling the ball, and she knows when to make her moves or passes to her teammates.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is a very underrated shooter showing off consistency behind the three point line, and she knows exactly when to show off her shot.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She moves well without the ball, too, finding ways to shift her opponents on defense.</p>
