New Jersey has been a hotbed this AAU season, and for good reason. There’s been a lot of talent to find across the state.
One of the best programs in the Garden State is the New Jersey Demons, composed of mainly players from Central and North Jersey, but these girls can ball out on the court.
To start, look no further than Tabitha Amanze Tabitha Amanze 6'4" | PF Blair | 2022 State NJ , a top-50 recruit in the Class of 2022, currently playing for Blair Academy. Amanze is a force to be reckoned with in the middle, a 6-4 forward who takes advantage of her size and height on the court.

When she’s got the ball, good luck trying to stop her in the lane because she’s an aggressive scorer, crashing the boards and pushing the tempo of the game in the paint in a big way. You can sense a noticeable difference when she steps on the floor.
While Amanze is dominating the game in the paint, she’s got help at the point in rising senior guard Isabella Murray, the leading scorer and rebounder for Watchung Hills during the 2021 season.
She’s everything you look for in a guard wrapped up into one, all-around dominant force on the court. After averaging 17.1 PPG in 2021, she’s been as electrifying to watch in AAU ball.

The first thing that jumps out on tape is her breakout speed on the fast break, something that she’s quite often on the end of, whether that be scoring or the one who caused the turnover to start the break.
Murray is an impressive finisher at the net and attacks the basket aggressively, something we really enjoyed while watching her film.
The last player we wanted to highlight in this article is Maddie Scheier, a rising junior at Somerville who transferred as a sophomore after attending her freshman year in North Carolina.
🏀🔨➡️ #IGetIt-> @madsketball 2023 is coming on the scene late. Does not have the young reps of many

She’s made the adjustment with ease, and that’s translated well onto the AAU circuit. As one of the newcomers on the team, she’s shown that she can shoot extremely well from outside the arc, and then can come back at you with a dribble drive for a tough two in the lane.
This is on top of the fact that she’s an excellent track and field athlete and just set the Somerville school record in the 800m this year. To be that dominant in two sports is incredible, and her stamina on the track plays well with her game on the basketball court.
Watch out for her to blossom in a big way as one of the best guards in the state this upcoming season.
Those are just three of a loaded roster of talent that the NJ Demons have, and they’re going to be exciting to watch as this AAU season continues.
