Though the records may not matter as much at camps, bragging rights and playing time are on the line as they show coaches all the hard work they have put in throughout the months of April and May. In addition to bonding with their teammates, girls are working on their craft and implementing new skill sets that they will showcase during the July NCAA live period, and carry that momentum into their fall workouts.
Though this may be the “offseason” on paper, when you are a hooper, there is no offseason. You have to constantly keep getting better one day at a time. Someone is always looking to take your spot or make a name for themselves. When you aren’t with your team, that’s when you have to self-examine who you are. How much do you want it? How much hard work does it take? Do you want to be elite? Do you want to be an All-American? Your attitude in how you approach your game will determine your aptitude and how high your game will go.
