#37 Shanel Reid Shanel Reid 5'10" | SF Austin | 2023 State TX
(Up from #46)
Reid has just elevated herself as she elevates on her jumper and I caught her after seeing a video someone else had sent me on another team, didn’t realize she had changed teams yet she continues to blossom. The frame is college-ready, so is her game as she plays within herself to just fill up the stat sheet like she does the mid to long-range jumper. She rebounds and defends, posts up smaller guards, and can handle the ball in the open court, under pressure
#39 Abbie Boutilier Abbie Boutilier 6'9" | PF Flower Mound | 2023 State TX
(Up from #52)
Boutilier also changed teams, at 6’9 you’re a definite draw, and with the countless colleges observing her over the club season, she decided to get it done and commit to Texas. Her drop step has been utilized, she’s finishing stronger but her agility has also jumped as she’s blocking more shots cleanly and using a variety of moves around the basket. I haven’t seen her with her new Pro Skills squad yet she was one of the standouts at the All Eyez On Me Individual Showcase and it didn’t take me long to observe what she added
#40 Avari Berry Avari Berry 5'7" | PG Pfugerville | 2023 State TX
(Up from #83)
Berry moved to another team as well and to say she “blossomed” would definitely be an understatement. The Austin Elite PG set it off immediately showing she could run a team and by her pushing the ball throwing 40-foot no-look passes on the money as well as running the set, her ability to control the tempo just stood out even more yet she also showed her ability to score, I already knew about the long ball, she was doing that in the 7th grade yet taking defenders multiple ways off the dribble and adding the “floata” was nice
#50 Monica Marsh Monica Marsh 5'6" | CG Plano West | 2023 State TX
(Up from #55)
Marsh falls into that M&M, plain or peanuts, she made a solid jump with a solid jumper as she created her shot under pressure so many times it’s embedded in my memory but what I really enjoyed seeing her do was deliver “in the clutch” as she wanted the ball down the stretch and showed she could score or assist but handling pressure wasn’t really a surprise yet she did it more frequently and her finishing after contact was pretty impressive as well
#67 Payton Hull Payton Hull 5'4" | SG Peaster | 2023 State TX
(Up from #74)
Hull will probably get a major jump next go-round since she had a growth spurt and remember “college coaches love big guards that can shoot” and she can set the nets on fire. Yeah, I knew she could knock down the mid to long-range but her ability to “catch and shoot” just blew me away. The release is fluid, quick, and consistent but she understands how to mix it up and take defenders off the dribble to score as well
#71 Chayse Goetz Chayse Goetz 6'0" | SF NB Canyon | 2023 State TX
(Up from #76)
“Goetz buckets frequently” is one of my first sayings about her and with her ability to drop the jumper, the pull-up in half-court, the stop and pop in transition, or just from the standing position, she understands how to put the ball in the basket from outside yet she’s taking the defenders off the dribble, with either hand, to score and has become more aggressive on both ends
