For the last month during the live period of college recruiting,  we have given a recap of some major performances at some major events. One 2022 player who didn’t receive much press in Louisville or Orlando during the “live period” was ECU and Bolles player Cortney Smith Cortney Smith 5'10" | SF Bolles HS | 2022 State FL .

Cortney Smith Cortney Smith 5'10" | SF Bolles HS | 2022 State FL 2022 (Bolles High School) had a productive ‘live period’ in July. The 5’10” wing player can shoot the 3 and had some good moments over the summer and in particular during the National Championship tournament in Orlando. In the final game of the National Championship,  Smith connected on several two 3 pointers in a pressure-packed game.  At 5’10,” Smith rebounds well and handles the ball well in the open court.  On any other travel team, she would probably average a double-double, but she was on a roster filled with eventual D-1 players.

The players below were not been talked about much during the recent “live period,” but they are all part of the talented 2022 class on the First Coast:

Indreauna Bargeron 2022 (Andrew Jackson High School) .  The term heart over height is in full play with this talented guard.  She is fearless on the court and she attacks the rim as if she was 6’4” instead of 5’4″.  She is fast, has a nice mid-range game, and can play lockdown defense on the court. She plays with a lot of intensity and confidence, and her motor is always running.

Samantha Freeland 2022 (Mandarin High School).   The sharpshooting wing with the body of a 4 and the game of a 3.  Freeland has a strong offensive game from the arc and runs the court very well.  She has the ability to handle the ball and also make plays driving to the goal and dishing out assists to open teammates.

Sarah Robinson 2022 (Mandarin High School).    One of the best defenders in the 2022 class.  She is the player who disrupts the opponent’s offense and makes the opposing team’s best ball handler uncomfortable.  Robinson’s on-ball defensive skills are very good and she uses her length to play the passing lanes. In a backup role last year at Mandarin,  Robinson recorded nearly 30 steals.   On offense, she uses her quickness and athleticism to get easy buckets.

Kayla Hardaway 2022 (Andrew Jackson High School) is another talented guard on the Andrew Jackson roster.    The 4’11” Hardaway possesses good on-ball skills and is a good 3 point shooter.  Hardaway actually shoots better when the game is on the line.
