Maddie Russell Maddie Russell 5'9" | CG Southern Aroostock | 2023 State New E – Team Red – 5’10’’ – SG/SF – ’23
At the end of the first day of camp, Russell caught my attention and carried that momentum into Sunday, where she was one of the most impressive players, in my opinion. Her scoring consistency on the wing gave Team Red some firepower, leading to a couple of exciting wins. She was effective in isolation and excelled at shooting off the bounce. Once Russell and wingmate Lucy Wiles Lucy Wiles 5'8" | CG Hampden | 2024 State New E got cooking from the field, it elevated the team to a game from the championship. Russell was hard to match up against because of her strength, offensive repertoire, and three-level scoring capability.
Kendall Maxon Kendall Maxon 5'7" | CG Wells | 2025 State New E – Team Black – 5’7’’ – CG – ’25
Maxon popped late in the camp, and I thought shined brightest during the Queen of the Court contest. Not many competed and dug in harder than Maxon in that competition. She isn’t the biggest guard, but she is very scrappy and moves well east to west, and in a one-on-one setting like Queen of the Court, she showed how tenacious an on-ball defender she can be. Maxon is a good ball-handler and quick, and she effectively scored in an isolation setting. I like Maxon’s upside and believe she can develop into an excellent two-way combo guard.
Skyler Holder Skyler Holder 6'0" | PF Kennebunk | 2025 State New E – Team Blue – 6’0’’ – PF – ’25
Holder has a high ceiling and big-time potential due to her size and three-point sniping ability. She showed confidence in her outside shot, she caught ready to shoot, and her shooting motion was fluid. She can shoot right over the defense easily thanks to her size and looks like she can be a valuable stretch 4 as Holder continues to develop. Holder also has good upper body strength and is not afraid to battle down low. As her post-game catches up to her perimeter shooting, Holder can become one of the more versatile scoring power forwards in ’25.
Hayden Madore Hayden Madore 5'7" | CG Hall-Dale High | 2024 State New E – Team White – 5’7’’ – CG – ’24
No one put forth more effort on defense than Madore. Every time she took the floor, it seemed like she made a momentum-shifting play for her team. Her gritty, in-your-face style of play was bothersome to opposing ball handlers and a handful of times disrupted the ball handlers’ dribble and rhythm. Madore was arguably the toughest guard at the camp and never backed down from any challenge. She set the tone on defense and lit a fire under her team with some aggressive takes to the hoop, strong finishes and timely jump shots.
Lucy Wiles Lucy Wiles 5'8" | CG Hampden | 2024 State New E – Team Red – 5’7’’ – CG – ’24
Team Red was on a mission on Sunday and almost made the championship game in large part to the efforts by Wiles on the offensive end. On Sunday, she was playing so well that I said to a few people that if Red gets into the championship game, you have to consider Wiles for MVP. I thought she was at times unstoppable scoring the basketball and was assertive every game. She relentlessly attacked the basket and was efficient in shooting from the perimeter. When the stakes were at their highest, Wiles performed at her best. Saturday, she showed flashes of her skill set; but on Sunday, once it was time for the playoffs and all eyes were on her, she elevated her game to another level. That speaks to her mental makeup, and I think she is one of the biggest sleepers in the ’24 class.
