Reebok Summer Finale: Saturday Standouts
Prep Girls Hoops Missouri is in Cape Girardeau this weekend for the Reebok Summer Finale. Here is a look at some of Saturday’s standouts in the first day of action.
Katie Baumgartner 5’10 Midwest United: A 2022 forward from Marquette who dominated in the low post in her team’s two victories. The physical lefty used her strength to have her way with opposing defenders as she scored inside and controlled the offensive boards.
Karris Allen Karris Allen 6'1" | SF Sikeston | 2022 State MO 5’10 Illinois Lady Titans: An athletic wing from Sikeston who played anywhere on the court. She facilitated offense as a point guard and also went into the post. She is a dynamic rebounder who can also slash and make perimeter jumpers.
Mariah Maxie 5’6 Midwest United: The 2022 point guard from Cardinal Ritter was by far the best defensive player I watched during the day. She’s a tenacious on-ball defender who made life uncomfortable for any ball handler. She also battled taller players inside who tried to post her up.
PJ Reutzel 5’9 Southeast Dynasty: A 2025 guard from Fredericktown who scored 16 points in her team’s victory in the evening. She drive to the basket well and mixed in a few perimeter jumpers and got herself to the free throw line.
Ava Hughes 5’8 Team Blackout : A 2025 guard from Hermann who stayed in attack mode. When she could get to her dominant left hand, she was going downhill, and with positive results.
