The 2023 class has a ton of talent and several ladies at the top of the class are already holding multiple scholarship offers. There is a lot of depth in the class, including several players whose stock could take off in their Junior seasons. Here are some players on our watch list this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="311948" first="Katie" last="Chandler"], Rowan County - Chandler was right on the cusp of being a double figure scorer last season and could have a bigger impact this season coming off a strong summer of AAU with Kentucky Premier. Katie could be a 15+ point per game scorer with an uptick in scoring efficiency this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="312226" first="Reagan" last="Jones"], Knox Central - After transferring from South Laurel this summer, Jones will be looking for a bigger role at her new home. Reagan shot 33% from three last season and 38% overall as a Sophomore and could score over 15 points per game if she can get her shooting percentages up this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="200348" first="Amari" last="Lovan"], Madisonville-North Hopkins - Amari had to step up after [player_tooltip player_id="106154" first="Camryn" last="LaGrange"] was injured before last season and that experience should help the Lady Maroons this season as they go after a second region championship. As a Sophomore, Lovan averaged double figure points and 7 rebounds per game. She could average a double-double as a Junior.
[player_tooltip player_id="199614" first="Lexi" last="Cash"], Mercy - On her third coach in three years, Cash will be looking for a huge increase in productivity after an underwhelming Sophomore season of growing pains for a very young Mercy squad. Looking ahead to this season, Lexi has a chance to be the most improved player in the region this season if she reaches her potential.
[player_tooltip player_id="164401" first="Kaela" last="Ballard"], Portland Christian - Ballard only got to play in 12 games last season after a transfer but should be primed for a big season after having an entire summer to get more comfortable with a new team and coach. Kaela could average over 20 points per game this season if she just improves her three point shooting and gets to the free throw line a little bit more in 2021.
