Continue ReadingThe Bay State Jaguars ’22 class has the most talent depth of any program I have seen thus far. With 22 players from the program representing the top 150, 13 of them filling up the top 50, it makes sense why this group had so much success during the summer. The Jaguars play a beautiful brand of basketball, and I thought the athletes did a good job filling specific roles to help their team win. Many prospects saw a spike in their ranking due to their outstanding play during the July Live period. Below are some of the players who impressed me the most.
Carly Davey Carly Davey 5'6" | PG Westford Academy | 2022 State NewE – Westford Academy – 5’6’’ – PG
’22 Rank: #34
It is hard to watch Davey play and not become a huge fan. Her energy and effort on defense were all I needed to see for me to shoot her up the rankings. She is one of the best athletes moving east to west that I watched the last couple of months, and I think she is the best defender at her position. Davey’s size may limit her and make it hard to defend big wings, but if I need someone to stick the opposing ball handler, I am calling Carly Davey Carly Davey 5'6" | PG Westford Academy | 2022 State NewE to do the job every time. She picks up full court, slides her feet well, and always stays in front of her assignment. Her transition defense is exceptional as well. Always the first one sprinting back to get between the defender and the basket, Davey will get herself in position to draw momentum-changing charges. Davey is a disrupter on defense and overall a tremendous leader for the Jaguars.
My favorite play in basketball🤩 Over 30 charges taken this summer, but these 16 made the cut! Keep an eye out for the best reactions by @MeganOlbrys and the rest of my amazing @BayStateJags teammates💛 @LaurieBollin @JagsRecruiting pic.twitter.com/iUThBvlFHz

Grace Ceseretti Grace Ceseretti 5'9" | SG Northfield Mt. Hermon | 2022 State NewE – Northfield Mt. Hermon – 5’9’’ – SG
’22 Rank: #42
Ceseretti was on fire from three all July. Whenever I saw her step on the court, she was confidently draining shots from the perimeter. Ceseretti’s jump shot not only got my attention but many college coaches; such as, the staff from Lenoir Rhyne who offered her in late July, followed by The University of Maryland-Baltimore County, where Ceseretti committed earlier this month. On top of her outside marksmanship, Ceseretti is also an active defender, specifically on the help side. A strong 2 guard who can muscle up bigger opponents, Ceseretti isn’t afraid to battle around the basket. You can always count on her to be alert and aware of the weak side.

Amber Silva Amber Silva 5'7" | CG Bridgewater-Raynham | 2022 NewE – Bridgewater Raynham – 5’6’’ – CG
’22 Rank: #93
Silva is a three-point specialist, but when she gets run off the perimeter, she is comfortable putting the ball on the deck and making the defense move. Like Carly Davey Carly Davey 5'6" | PG Westford Academy | 2022 State NewE , Silva makes her money on defense. Another Jaguar who is not the biggest player, but is tough, scrappy, and digs in every possession on the defensive side of the ball. When you watch the Jaguars play, key in on Silva, and you’ll see how much she moves on defense. Every time the ball moves, Silva sprints into the proper position. Never stagnant or hugging her assignment, Silva is alert and aware of everything around her. She will aggressively deny the ball and overall has an excellent feel for the game.

Stefany Padula Stefany Padula 5'9" | SG Franklin | 2022 State NewE – Franklin – 5’9’’ – SG/SF
’22 Rank: #114
Add Padula to the list of Jaguar prospects who are undersized but will do all the little things that significantly impact winning basketball games. What Padula brings to the table isn’t reflected in the final box score, but it is imperative to the game’s outcome. She works hard fronting the post and makes it extremely difficult for opposing guards to get a clean entry pass into the bigs. Padula is a tough rebounder on both offense and defense. For someone who is at a disadvantage height-wise, she always seems to find a way to get inside position for strong caroms. She runs the floor hard and is a threat in the open court with the ball going downhill. Padula is also an efficient mid-long-range shooter. Naturally, Padula is a 2 guard, but I like how she has expanded her game to give the Jaguars valuable minutes at the 4.
Had so much fun in spooky nook! It was a great way to end the summer full of lots of competition and memories with my teammates. Check out some of my highlights! @LaurieBollin @andypottsBRG @brghoops pic.twitter.com/hB3wDzipiu

Nicole Parks Nicole Parks 6'0" | SF St. George's | 2022 State NewE – St. Geroge’s – 6’0’’ – SF
’22 Rank: #10
No one has been more impressive than Parks this summer from a team impact standpoint. On both sides of the ball, I have not seen anyone affect a basketball game as consistently as Parks did during the July Live period. She was a terror on defense, and every time you looked up, Parks was disrupting a pass and taking it the other way for a layup. Then you look up again, and she is vociferously rejecting a shot out of bounds. Parks made her presence felt game after game and is the x-factor to the star-studded Jags lineup that consists of Sophia Vital Sophia Vital 5'3" | PG Tabor Academy | 2023 State NewE , Shay Bollin Shay Bollin 6'3" | SF Bridgewater-Raynham | 2022 State #26 Nation NewE , Megan Olbrys Megan Olbrys 6'1" | PF Norwood | 2022 State NewE , and Avery O’Connor Avery O’Connor 6'0" | SG Dedham | 2022 State NewE . Parks can hit threes, can finish around the basket, and is an underrated passer. Her extraordinary summer was stamped with her commitment to Colgate. Parks hit her stride this summer and has a chance to continue to climb higher up on the charts, especially when the winter high school season comes into play.
Last rodeo in Texas with tha squad, wouldn’t want to boogie with any one else this past spring/summer
