Meisha Caserio Meisha Caserio 5'4" | PG Gilbert | 2024 State AZ is a five-foot-four point guard at Gilbert High School who also plays for her grassroots team, Arizona Elite 15U. Gilbert finished with an overall 13-7 record last year and 5-3 in their conference. Meisha ended the year averaging 13.4 points per game along with 2.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 steals. Although she scored 14 points and had four rebounds in the state tournament game against Flowing Wells, Gilbert lost, 51-41. As a freshman point guard, she was named Player of the Week (February 8-13) by scoring 27 on 53% shooting in a win over Glendale Ironwood, 55-27. In February and March, Meisha was selected as Player of the Game a total of five times as awarded by Max Preps.
Meisha is a member of the Elite 50 players in 2021-2022 as selected by AZ Central. Here’s one scout’s summation of her game. “Se improved over the summer and has a lot of upper body strength. She was her teams leading scorer as a freshman and also led Gilbert in steals and assists, She is very talented and is a volume shooter on a young team. She could become one of the state’s best point guards and is still maturing as she works to improve her assist to turnover ratio (0.48).”
Madison Reibel Madison Reibel 5'6" | CG Canyon View | 2024 CO is a five-foot-three combo guard for Canyon View High School and her club team GiveNGo. As a freshman last year, CV went 9-5 and 4-4 in their conference. Madison averaged 11.8 points per game along with 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals. She also shot 43% from beyond the three-point line. Her team lost to Flowing Wells in the state tournament, 59-45. This past February and March she was selected as the Player of the Game on two occasions by Max Preps.
Madison played well this past spring and summer for GiveNGo including the AZGR invitational. One scout commented on her game. “She is one of the better on the ball defenders and understands how to help and recover well. Her basketball knowledge is quite advanced as well as her feel for the game. She is attempting to build a basketball tradition at Canyon View.” Madison also made Honorable Mention on the Sports 360 All-Academic Girls Basketball Team with a 3.8 GPA. She is now ready for an outstanding sophomore season.
Savanna Creal Savanna Creal 5'11" | SF Hamilton | 2024 State AZ is a five-foot-five shooting guard for Hamilton High School as well as Arizona Elite 15U, her club team. Last year the Huskies finished 19-2 and were 7-1 in their conference. Hamilton lost in the state championship game to Valley Vista, 49-41. As a freshman, Savanna averaged 4.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. In their first game of the season, she led all scorers with 18 points in a 75-53 win over Perry High School. She was named Player of the Game by Max Preps.
Savanna’s profile includes the following. “You won’t find a harder worker both on and off the court. I am enrolled in honor and AP courses and maintain a 4.0 GPA. My work ethic, team mentality, and positive attitude sets me apart from others.” She played with Arizona Elite in a number of spring and summer tournaments and improved both her offensive and defensive game. Now, with many returning players for the Huskies, her team should take another run in the state playoffs.
Ava Pautz Ava Pautz 5'11" | SF Notre Dame Prep | 2024 State AZ is a five-foot-six point guard for Notre Dame Prep in Scottsdale. She also plays for her grassroots team, the Arizona Rebels. Last March the Saints finished 16-3 overall and 9-1 in their conference. The team lost to Mesquite in the state 4A quarterfinals, 36-32. Ava, for the season as a freshman, averaged 7.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.2 steals. Her sister Alivia, a senior, also on the team, was named to the AZ Sports All-Arizona Girls Basketball Team and accepted a scholarship to Black Hills State in South Dakota. Playing for Head Coach Dell Mims, Ava was selected as Player of the Game by Max Preps in her debut as a freshman. She had a game-high 17 points in a 58-46 win over Peoria.
Ava also made the Honorable Mention team by Sports360AZ AZ All-Academic Girls Basketball Team with an unweighted GPA of 3.46. One scout summed up Ava’s play. “She provides tough on-the-ball defense against opposing dribblers. Ava’s insurgence into the line-up, along with the improvement of other girls on the team, was a major factor in the Saints’ 16-3 overall record.”
