With those players we’ve formed a 1st and a 2nd all Expo Team, in this article we take a deeper look into the girls that form the 2nd Team and what they did to make it on this list.
Gianna Whiteside Gianna Whiteside 5'11" | PF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ – George Washington
Gianna Whiteside Gianna Whiteside 5'11" | PF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ was a late addition to the event, but came in and made an immediate impact. She got whatever she wanted in the paint, whether it was a post-up, floaters, or dribble drives. This was my first seeing Gianna outside of her George Washington team, and I was very impressed by her ability to handle the ball and initiate the offense. She showed she could knock down the mid-range shot consistently as well as the occasional corner three-ball.
Nariah Golden Nariah Golden 5'3" | CG Denver East | 2023 State CO – Denver East
Nariah Golden Nariah Golden 5'3" | CG Denver East | 2023 State CO was the ultimate energy player during the Top 250 Expo. Plenty of what she did didnt show up in the stat sheet, but people definitely took notice to her game. Nariah forced turnovers and got all of the 50/50 balls. She certainly played well enough on the defensive end to make an all-team list. Without her, I don’t think her team would’ve been so successful. When the offense got stagnant, she willed her team to wins by knocking down shots from all over the floor and getting into the lane for finishes at the rim. If Nariah can keep up this same level of play throughout the year, her Denver East will take some team by surprise.
Savannah Weiss Savannah Weiss 5'1" | PG Fairview | 2025 State CO – Fairview
Savannah Weiss Savannah Weiss 5'1" | PG Fairview | 2025 State CO will be a name to remember going forward as the freshman point guard was all over the floor during the Top 250 Expo. She was patient and calm on offense, was comfortable with the ball in her hands, and made great decisions. Savannah was also aggressive in transition, slicing through the defense to get to the rim for a clean finish or dishing the ball to an open teammate. Another skilset thatl Savannah showed was her willingness to slide over and play off-the-ball when asked. She turned heads with her ability to make open shots time and time again as she shoots it confidently from deep.
Damara Allen Damara Allen 5'10" | SG Cherokee Trail | 2024 State CO – Cherokee Trail
Damara Allen Damara Allen 5'10" | SG Cherokee Trail | 2024 State CO played as a three and D player during our Top 250 Expo last weekend, but she took that role to another level. Yes, she is a defensive-minded player, but she does more than just get her hands in the passing lanes or force tough shots. Damara is also a great rebounder. She used her body to box out taller girls to snag boards over them. In addition, she was good at realizing when the defense was on their heels so she could attack and get her some quick, easy baskets. As the day continued, she got easy 3’s in transition, making her team hard to read offensively.
Mikylah Espinosa- Skyview
Mikylah is a player I’m excited about this season at Skyview, with her transfer from The Academy. She brings a different style of player, which she showcased well during the Top 250 Expo. Mikylah has an all-around game with a high IQ. Offensively she is a sniper from 3 point range that can get her shot off any way she needs to. She’s also relentless when driving to the basket and get it there at will and finish amongst taller defenders. Top it all over; she was one of the best passers at the whole event, setting players up time and time again.
