Giana Vlahakos-6’1 (Memorial HS) 2022
Vlahakos energizes me when I catch her in action and watching her do multiple things that the novice may not grasp just grabs me over and over. She scores in the paint, with either hand and she battles for rebounds yet her picks are priceless, I have felt them from just observing yet she understands how to roll after, a lost art, but let me draw another picture of what she does and that’s, handle the ball in the open court as well as attack from the wing and she can face the basket and score
Courtney McIntyre-6’3 (Summer Creek HS) 2022
McIntyre uses her college-ready body really well and the jump I see in her game from the last time I caught her will make her squad more difficult to contain, especially since she’s one-half of their next-level Twin Tower tandem. She finishes strongly and after contact, which is irrelevant, because of her strength and power, and on top of that, I enjoyed watching her run the floor after rebounding, on both ends as well as her defending
RyLee Grays RyLee Grays 6'3" | PF The Village School | 2023 State #17 Nation TX -6’3 (Pearland HS) 2023
Grays has just amazed me over the years, I saw it coming, that’s why I went solo is one of my favorite verses from my favorite get-ready song because I knew what the potential was and #BCS offers on the table, I was right again yet watching her go right off the dribble to finish is just one of her many moves as she’s also developed a nice spin in the paint yet as good as she is, she ain’t even reached what she will become and that’s scary, no no, not for me, for opponents
Daniella Vallecilla-6’4 (Cy Ranch HS) 2023
Vallecilla gave me a strange look when I said “you ain’t from around here” because there aren’t a lot of players that are 76 inches that I miss yet it could happen the way players are being hidden in the club season but I liked her agility inside the paint as well as her mobility because she does things fluidly around the rim and s powerful as she is on her finishes, she also showed finesse with her of touch but the rebounding, as well as good timing to block shots, were nice as well
Crystal Hayes-6’4 (Madison HS) 2023
Hayes reminded me of the Yellow Cab commercial with Elvin Hayes as I would see her at events with her club team and slow down, yellow, yet I wouldn’t have a complete roster so I would see RED, the green, and kept it moving yet I was glad she played with the Houston Dream at the event in what has become a NIGHTMARE with the nonsense this has become and I really enjoyed catching her in action. She’s definitely long and athletic, opened up her game banking a 3, she moves well on both ends and did a nice job rebounding on both ends of the court
Jorynn Ross Jorynn Ross 6'2" | PF John Cooper | 2023 State TX -6’3 (Summer Creek HS) 2023
Ross is the other half of that Summer Creek Twin Tower tandem, the initials are SC so expect something special and Ross gave one of the “moves of the day” that had not only her team’s bench erupt yet the SC fan base, I’m not a cheerleader yet I jumped too, and speaking of jumping, the way she keeps working to elevate her game definitely stands out, over and over as she is finishing stronger, with either hand, both after contact
Lauren Gentle-6’0 (Humble)
Gentle she isn’t as she uses powerful inside moves to finish and yes, that includes after contact but she rebounds well, on both ends and understands how to use her body for positioning. She runs the floor, on both ends, showed she could defend both inside and outside the paint
