There are so many great names and players to look at, and here at Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey, we’re looking closer at the players on each of our rankings lists going into the upcoming high school season.
We’re back at the 2022 class for this article as we take a look at the seventh, eighth and ninth-best seniors in New Jersey as ranked by PGH NJ.
No. 7 – Tabitha Amanze Tabitha Amanze 6'4" | PF Blair | 2022 State NJ : 6-4 PF, Blair Academy
Amanze was unfortunately unable to play last season as Blair was one of several schools who opted out of playing basketball in the spring. However, with two previous years on varsity, we have a lot to look at with this 6-4 phenom.
Just from her height alone, she’s a formidable presence on the floor and she carries a certain level of confidence and swagger that is incredibly intimidating. In her last full high school season, Amanze posted a double-figure scoring average while being one of the best interior defenders in the state.
We’ve seen continued growth over the past two summers with the NJ Demons, so looking at that along with her previous body of work is just setting up what we expect to be a superstar-level season this fall.
No. 8 – Alana Robinson Alana Robinson 5'10" | SF Pope John | 2022 State NJ : 5-10 SF, Pope John
Robinson’s numbers jump off the page over her first three seasons of high school, including two years where she recorded a combined 211 blocks, around 3.5 BPG. Even in last year’s shortened season, Robinson still averaged nearly 3.0 BPG for Pope John.
She is a double-double machine and has averaged a double-double the past two seasons and her overall game is absolutely spectacular. To be able to stuff the stat sheet like that shows the balance in her game in all facets, from offensive prowess to defensive dominance.
She’s going to join the 1000 point club at Pope John this coming season and if teams aren’t already recruiting her, she’s going to have a lot of eyes on her this fall.
No. 9 – Saniah Caldwell Saniah Caldwell 5'8" | PG Saddle River Day | 2022 State #52 Nation NJ : 5-8 PG, Saddle River Day
Caldwell has remained incredibly consistent with her production throughout her high school career and will soon join SRD’s 1000 point club. Her sophomore season alone set her up incredibly well do accomplish the feat, averaging 20.6 PPG.
To put things in perspective, as a sophomore, Caldwell averaged 6.1 SPG and 5.0 APG and she’s been an absolute workhorse on both sides of the basketball and can carve you up in so many ways.
We haven’t even mentioned yet her perimeter shooting, which she’s consistently been hitting several three-pointers a game on average the past several seasons. Caldwell is going to keep the train rolling into this season in a big way.
We have more player and team content for you coming out before the start of the 2021 basketball season, so stay with Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey.
