With Lake Mills losing five all-conference seniors and especially unanimous first-team selection Taylor Roughen Taylor Roughen 5'7" | SG Lake Mills | 2021 State WI graduating the conference could be wide open. With a horde of new talents set to take the conference over it’s time to take a look at the north division of the Capitol Conference.
Lily Schuetz Lily Schuetz 5'9" | SF Lakeside Lutheran | 2022 State WI -5’9 G-’22-Lakeside Lutheran- The only non-senior to make the first-team all-conference in the north division makes Schuetz unique for that alone, but she is also a very unique player. She may not be a 20 point scorer but she excels at many other points of the game. She does a great job in getting her team possessions, she is a great rebounding guard and she has a nose for the ball on defense. Schuetz will help any team she is on by doing all the little things she brings and whatever the record will be for them they will have a chance to be in games because of what she does.
Dylann Harrington-5’8 G-’22-Lodi- A three-sport athlete who is competing year-round. Harrington has a lot of skills that may need to be refined a bit. For instance, she has a weird statistical oddity where she shoots under 40% from the field and 40% from three. She has a great ability to score with volume but she has been very inconsistent, that being said on her night she might be one of the best players in the conference.
Jaiden Dornaus-5’7 G-’23-Columbus- One of the younger players who made an impact last season Dornaus has a lot to prove still. She has had a lot of opportunities and she has been aggressive being one of the top players when it comes to free-throw attempts, which shows that she is one to take note of for the future.
Bella Pitta-6’3 C-’23-Lake Mills- With most of the Lake Mills team graduating a season ago there is going to be a large opportunity for her to step in and for everyone to see what she has. Last season she was a role player and taking the step into being the focus of other teams will be difficult, but with her size, and feel it’s going to be interesting to see how she fairs with added responsibility.
