player_tooltip player_id=”208047″ first=”Reilly” last=“Clark“] is a five-foot-ten shooting guard for Catalina Foothills High School. She also plays for her club team, The Tucson Rattlers. The Lady Falcons finished a disappointing 5-7 last season but were 4-3 in their conference. As a sophomore, Reilly averaged 20.4 points a game along with 8.4 rebounds. As a freshman, her numbers were 15.4 and 5.9. In 37 games over two years, she has accumulated 620 points and may go over the 1,000 point mark as a junior. On three different occasions, she had a double-double and was nominated for Player of the Week for a 20 point, 14 rebound performance against Tucson High School.
One scout had this to say about Reilly’s game. “She was AIA Freshman of the Year and is going to be an elite shooter with great length. She has the decision-making and ball-handling abilities to run the point guard position at a high level. She has gone from being unranked to highly ranked.” As she begins her junior year, she is only going to improve both offensively and defensively.
Bella Barrett Bella Barrett 5'11" | SF Millennium | 2023 State AZ is a six-foot wing/small forward for Verrado High School in Buckeye. She also plays for West Coast Elite, her club team. Last season, the Lady Vipers finished 18-2 and 6-1 in the 5A Desert Region Conference. She averaged 11.1 points per game for her sophomore season along with 8.4 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game. Verrado lost to Millennium in last March’s state tournament, 47-24. Bella is the number one rated small forward in the Arizona class of 2023 and, over her first two years, she has won Player of the Game – awarded by Max Preps – a total of seven times.
Bella also maintains a 4.33 GPA. Her Head Coach, Vernon Beard, commented on her game. “What I really appreciate about her is her basketball IQ. She’s into the gym some days at 4 am to get in as much practice time as possible. We all know if you want to be great at something, you’ve got to sacrifice some time and that’s what makes it great being around her to coach. She’s always the first one in and the last one out.” Now a junior at Verrado, the sky’s the limit for her.
Mia Amundsen Mia Amundsen 5'9" | CG Millennium | 2023 State AZ is a five-foot-five combination guard who plays for Millennium High School along with her grassroots team, West Coast Elite. The Lady Tigers won their third straight 5A title last March by beating Flowing Wells, 62-39. As a sophomore, Mia averaged 8.5 points per game and shot 37% from beyond the arc, the best percentage on the team. She made the All-Academic Girls Basketball Team and is considered one of the top five players in the class of 2023.
One scout had this to say about Mia’s game. “She is one of the best shooters I’ve seen in a while and the definition of a WINNER. She has multiple state championships, a great skill set and she gets better every week.” Another coach commented about her play. “She is a solid long to a mid-range shooter who thrives to play under pressure in the clutch. She has quick footwork which has improved her ability to create her own shot off the dribble. She will be playing a leadership role over the next two seasons.” Only a junior, Mia has already been offered a scholarship from the University of Southwest. There will be more offers coming as the season starts.
Madelynn Muniz Madelynn Muniz 5'9" | CG Boulder Creek | 2023 State AZ is a five-foot-nine combo guard for PHH Prep in Phoenix. She also plays for her club team, Arizona Select. As a freshman at Boulder Creek High School, she averaged 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Her team finished 17-13 overall and 5-5 in their conference. As a freshman, Madelynn was selected as the Player of the Game – by Max Preps – a total of seven different times. She then transferred to PHH Prep where she played a national schedule.
Now she has two more years of high school competition left and has already received an offer from the University of Idaho. Here is one scout’s take on Madelynn’s game. “She is usually assigned to guard the opponent’s best player. As a freshman, she developed a scoring mentality. At PHH Prep she will benefit from a national schedule. She had impressive performances during the summer in both Las Vegas and Denver.” She clearly is on the way to play at the next level.
