Natia Hagan-5’6 (Humble) 2022
Hagan attacks the basket strongly with either hand and she creates her shot, under pressure and showed she could drop it. She also handles the ball well, also under pressure and made some solid passes in transition as well as in the set
Sydney Ward Sydney Ward 6'0" | SF The Village School | 2022 State TX -6’0 (The Village) 2022
Ward is “long and athletic” and her ability to elevate over defenders gives her a huge advantage because she’s able to get her shot off whenever she wants, I guess the UPS help as well yet she can score acrobatically off the dribble and finish after contact. Oh yeah, she plays the passing lane which leads to baskets going the other way
Rachel Okoye Rachel Okoye 5'6" | CG George Ranch | 2022 State TX -5’6 (George Ranch) 2022
Okoye understands how to set the defender up and her first step is nothing to take lightly yet she also hits the stop and pop jumper in transition as good as anyone in the area and understands how to get the defender leaning combining that with her scoring off the dribble showing a slight hesitation
Mia Thomas-5’4 (Summer Creek) 2022
Thomas is focused because I have seen her stay with the shot and still drop it, from BTA, giving her 4 point opportunities yet that in itself should also tell you how strong she is as she shows the #sizedontamtter hashtag because she can and she also finishes after the lick off the dribble
Peyton Foster-5’11 (Langham Creek) 2022
Foster was going to be an X-Factor, in fact, I told her she was one yet she kept dropping the mid to long-range and that, coupled with her size which is a shade under the magic number will raise next level eyebrows because she’s a shade under “the magic number” and college coaches love big guards that can shoot
Tracey Matindu-5’8 (CY Ranch) 2023
Matindu is long and athletic and when you see her slicing by defenders in the open court to either drop the jumper or attack and finish, you know you’re watching a player that understands how to put the ball in the basket, keep in mind she’s long and athletic and plays the passing lane which also leads to baskets
Abigail Tomaski Abigail Tomaski 6'0" | SG Memorial | 2023 State TX -6’0 (Memorial) 2023
Tomaski showed me she could shoot as a freshman, okay let us fast forward to now because as she’s gotten stronger, her range has extended but so has her ability to set the defender up. She creates her shot under pressure and that adds the midrange but her off the dribble and finishing powerfully but that way and on putbacks was nice
India McMahon (Hardin Jefferson) 2024
McMahon may not be related to Ed yet she’s bringing several prizes as she clearing defenders out the house as I publish this and over 90% won’t catch the play on words, I’m glad I caught her “play on the court” because the acrobatic finishes showed body control and the midrange showed “you better guard her”
