First of all, not to be confused with the All-Greater Houston team, I know we’re in an era where many read the subject or headline and not the story yet these players are from teams that I think have a chance to make a run and win their regions so here we go [player_tooltip player_id="65906" first="Ashlon" last="Jackson"]-5’10 SG (Hardin Jefferson) Jackson has been a terror for, well ever and the "make those around her better" mindset will give them another shot at winning it all. She’ll close out her high school career with several awards and this would be "icing on the cake" to win state before she heads to Duke so her ability to play the 1-3, her BB-IQ as well as "scoring multiple ways" will all come in handy as they try and defend R3-4A title Kaitlyn Duhon-6’0 SF (Summer Creek) Duhon will be the key to how far they go and based on what I’ve seen in the area, they’re the early favorites, well mine, to win R3-6A but she’s long and athletic, solid scorer off the dribble, and can drop the jumper yet her BB-IQ, her ability to play the passing lane and the glue that will hold the team together because of her "mindset" will definitely play a huge part in their R3-6A run before she heads to Auburn [player_tooltip player_id="135361" first="Nya" last="Threatt"]-5’7 CG (Dulles) Threatt has been a treat to watch since middle school and the UTA commit is committed to helping her team go as far as they can so it is conceivable they can make a deep run because things have certainly tightened up in R3-6A since the Dynamic Duo from Cy Creek are gone but her ability to run a team as well as score when needed will play a huge role Giana Vlahakos-6’0 C and Mackenzie McKown-6’0 SG (Memorial) Vlahakos and McKown are battles tested and they are aware of what it will take. With the inside power from Vlahakos, which includes scoring and rebounding on both ends, as well as the sharpshooting from McKown, mid to long-range, this senior duo is ready to go out with a bang and with their supporting cast, hey, you never know [player_tooltip player_id="135391" first="Ja’Nyla" last="Kennedy"]-5’10 PF and [player_tooltip player_id="135392" first="Chrishelle" last="Washington"]-5’6 PG (North Shore) Kennedy came back last season from an injury, Washington is coming back this season, and based on what I caught in the fall leagues, you just never know. Kennedy is powerful, can score around the basket as well as drain the jumper while the speedy PG Washington can leave defenders flatfooted in the open court while throwing blazing passes on the money plus she drops the outside shot [player_tooltip player_id="135388" first="Kenna" last="Gibson"]-5’7 SG and [player_tooltip player_id="135390" first="Kylie" last="Minter"]-5’6 PG (Clear Springs) Gibson and Minter are one of the top backcourts in Texas, Gibson has unlimited range and by that, guard her from halfcourt on in while Minter also can drain the long ball as well as control the tempo. I think Gibson willingness and desire to want the ball down the stretch and her ability to deliver will go a long way in this teams success yet the dup feed off each other and both can play 1-2 positions [player_tooltip player_id="265532" first="Brooklin" last="Brown"]-5’10 SG and [player_tooltip player_id="135363" first="R’Mani" last="Taylor"] 5’7 PG (Shadow Creek) Brown is one of the most underrated players in Texas that can actually go off at the drop of a dime, well she drops dimes too but her pull-up jumper is just something to see as she elevates over defenders to get it off, mid to long-range, does the same as she finishes acrobatically while Taylor can play the prototypical PG when needed and those pinpoint passes through traffic are something, so is her "no-look" that has no comparison because she does it quite well yet she also can drop it from another zip code
