The power forward position in Washington’s class of 2022 is strong at the top with four of the top five college prospects committed to play Division 1 basketball. One remains uncommitted according to the PGH WA database and multiple others outside of the top five are reportedly still available.
6’4 PF [player_tooltip player_id="27929" first="Lauren" last="Glazier"] (Mt. Si HS) is the lone player in the top five at the power forward position to not publicly announce her college destination. Glazier is long, mobile and versatile. She shoots the pull-up jumper and can knock down the high post shot at a high rate. Her length helps her on the boards as well. Colleges will want her to gain strength at the next level, but her length and athleticism cannot be taught.
6’0 PF [player_tooltip player_id="27931" first="Naomi" last="Hall"]-Schiffner (Kentridge HS) did not play club ball this past Summer, but at 6’0 tall and a solid jump shot, she has enough tools to play at some level of college.
5’10 PF [player_tooltip player_id="27940" first="Taija" last="Mackey"] (Pasco HS) is a physical and tough bruiser in the paint that has great hands and controls the boards. Mackey would be a solid player at an NWAC program.
5’11 PF [player_tooltip player_id="79197" first="Mercedes" last="Tinder"] (Issaquah HS) is a strong and physical inside presence that makes her biggest impact on the boards to go along with her all around hustle and energy. Tinder could also help a college program with her approach to the game.
5’10 PF [player_tooltip player_id="218318" first="Ava" last="Cook"] (Stanwood HS) has a strong frame and can knock down the midrange jumper. Cook is a tireless worker and maximizes her natural ability. Another forward that can help a program at next level.
