With 8 of the top 10 prospects in the class of 2022 having made their decision, 12 of the top 20, and 18 of the top 40, we dive deeper into ranked players 21-40 and their decisions of where to play collegiately.
# 24 ranked [player_tooltip player_id="91583" first="Milahnie" last="Perry"] (Carrollwood Day School / Hoop Dreams Elite) verbally committed to Army over a year ago. With a coaching change, Perry chose to go in another direction and committed to attending a service academy. Perry switched gears from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. In Perry, Air Force gets a big, long, athletic guard who is one of the state’s top outside shooters. She can help a team space the floor and when she gets hot, can help lead a 6, 9, 12-0 run herself!

Young gives Auburn two Florida players in the 2022 class, joining # 5 [player_tooltip player_id="91557" first="Sydney" last="Shaw"] next season for the Tigers. Young is a versatile scoring guard who competes on both ends of the floor. She is an athletic, aggressive defender and can score in a number of ways.

Ranked # 31, St. Francis gets a heady, hardworking, competitor that is a leader on and off the floor and has a big-time work ethic! Ambrose joins fellow Floridian Halie Murphy on the Red Knights squad and should compete for playing time at the point guard position right away.
[player_tooltip player_id="151272" first="Aryana" last="Hicks"] (Charlotte HS / Tampa Thunder) is the most recent member of the 2022 class to make her college decision, verbally committing to Niagara University last week. Hicks, ranked # 34 in the Prep Girls Hoops Florida rankings is a slender, athletic combo guard who can get to the rim off the dribble. With Niagara looking to increase their athleticism, look for Hicks to immediately become one of the team’s top athletes!

She chose to verbally commit to Palm Beach Atlantic University over a year ago. Avrach is a skilled shooting guard who has a nice 3-point stroke, is a good passer, and has a high basketball IQ. She sat out the 2021 travel season to focus on training and player development. It will be great to see her compete for Spanish River this coming season and see the progress she has made after staying home. She led the team in scoring last season with 21.5 points per game and a 9-6 record. Can she help lead them further in the 7A classification in her final high school season?

5’9 Guard [player_tooltip player_id="91589" first="Ajalon" last="Gillard"] (West Orange HS / Hoop Dreams Elite) is one of the state’s most intriguing players in the class of 2022. She is the state’s # 38 ranked player in the Prep Girls Hoops Florida rankings. Her length, athleticism, and shooting ability are all major factors in her potential. She chose Florida Atlantic University and new head coach Jennifer Sullivan, who enters her first year of leading the FAU Owls in Boca Raton.
So who is next? # 22 [player_tooltip player_id="91570" first="Kyla" last="Abraham"] was one of this summer’s biggest newcomers and stock risers jumping onto the travel circuit with the Miami Suns and garnering the attention of a number of major colleges. She is down to 5 and has started making the rounds to her top 5 with visits to Baylor, Mississippi State, Miami, Oklahoma, and Georgia Tech. # 21 [player_tooltip player_id="219994" first="Naylee" last="Cortes"], # 23 [player_tooltip player_id="219996" first="Daniela" last="Gonzalez"], and # 29 [player_tooltip player_id="91576" first="Aylanies" last="Crespo"] are all members of the talented Central Pointe Academy squad that jumped onto the scene last year earning a national ranking.
# 26 [player_tooltip player_id="91565" first="Emani" last="Theodule"], # 32 [player_tooltip player_id="91580" first="Riana" last="Doctor"], and # 40 [player_tooltip player_id="154840" first="Etaria" last="Gibbons"] who were all injured last season. Their recruitment has taken a hit due to them not being able to play and be scene. Or what about # 27 [player_tooltip player_id="91567" first="Olivia" last="Delancy"], # 28 [player_tooltip player_id="91581" first="Jaela" last="Davis"], # 30 [player_tooltip player_id="91597" first="Paige" last="McDonald"], # 33 [player_tooltip player_id="91592" first="Kayla" last="Smith"], # 35 [player_tooltip player_id="91599" first="Reese" last="Tremitiere"], # 37 [player_tooltip player_id="243958" first="Sydney" last="Gomes"], and # 39 [player_tooltip player_id="151173" first="Claire" last="Erickson"]. It is a talented class and we will follow their college decisions over the coming days, weeks, and months.
