HSOT released their all-state teams in April of this year. Here’s a preview of what you can see from those Third Team All-State members this upcoming year.

[player_tooltip player_id="219898" first="Emily" last="Hege"] | Davidson | CG | 2022

Hege, the Wingate commit, had a hot summer shooting continuing her scoring ability after her high school season. During her high school season, she averaged over 24 points a game, and her three point shooting ability being consistent makes it difficult to stop her. She can also move quickly to get to the lane showing off nice floaters to score her points. She sees the floor well knowing how to fill in the lanes, find her open teammates, and relocate to get the open shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="201035" first="Ashanti" last="Lynch"] | North Lenoir | CG | 2022

Lynch (pictured above) may be listed as a guard, but she can certainly battle in the paint against any kind of competition. She seals off opponents like a post player looking for an entry pass, and she boxes out going after rebounds. As a ball handler, she has a nasty crossover that others have trouble defending, and she does a great job driving in the paint to draw away defenders from her teammates in order to get them a bucket. She’s great on defense, too, grabbing steals to take the other direction scoring on fast breaks. She averaged almost 18 points and over 7 rebounds last season to go with her 8.5 steals a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="116896" first="Saniya" last="Wilson"] | Kings Mountain | CG | 2022

Wilson is a dynamic scorer, and she does so using various moves like step backs and crossovers to get separation from her opponents to show off her shot. She has a nice finish at the rim getting to the basket with ease with her ball handling. Her hands cause problems on defense swatting the ball away to grab steals. She averaged 24.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 4.2 apg, and 3.5 spg.

[player_tooltip player_id="201847" first="Ally" last="Hollifield"] | Shelby | CG | 2023

Hollifield stays ready to shoot making sure she can slide into the gaps on defense shooting from deep. Her speed allows her to evade defenders with ease, but makes it difficult for others to score in transition with her ability to hustle back and block shots. She’s also notorious to her opponents with her ability to grab steals. She averaged almost 19 points last season, 5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 4.8 steals, and over a block a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="201995" first="Kylah" last="Silver"] | D.H. Conley | CG | 2023

Silver already holds offers from schools like University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Greensboro and North Carolina Central. Her offensive knowledge translates well to defense with her ability to anticipate what her opponents will do to stop them with a steal or a blocked shot. She gets inside to grab rebounds as well averaging almost 10 rebounds a game last season. She shows patience when wanting to drive the ball all the way to the hoop, or she can show off her jump shot from anywhere. She scored 23.2 ppg, 2.6 apg, 4.8 spg, and 1.1 bpg.
