Multiple players have gone to division one schools in the past few seasons, and it will be sending more over the next few seasons. With the dominance of Aquinas over its division the last few seasons, and Onalaska reaching the state semifinals this conference at the top is exceptional. This season there are plenty of players that are back to help carry on the competitiveness in the MVC.
Ava Smith-5’10 G/F-’22-Onalaska: Smith is a very intriguing under-the-radar prospect at Onalaska. She operated as a wing last season, and her size makes her a very difficult matchup. Her jump shot looks a little funky because she leans to her left even on standstill jumpers, but she has had success with it. Due to her playing on the perimeter as a wing you don’t get to see her try to be too expansive at Onalaska, but I am very curious to see how she plays her senior season due to her physical tools.
Alaina Bagniefski-5’8 G-’22-Aquinas: Bagniefski is a key member of the Aquinas machine who I think is probably better than a lot of people give her credit for. She has an absolutely picture-perfect looking jumper, one which I think could hold up to a heavy increase in volume if given the opportunity. She does a great job at filling her role at Aquinas and that’s what she’ll continue to do, but there is a higher ceiling on her talent that I hope she wants to pursue at the next level if she can find an opportunity.
Jazzy Davis Jazzy Davis 5'11" | PF La Crosse Logan | 2023 WI -6’0 F-’23-La Crosse Logan: Davis had a quietly impressive sophomore season averaging 11.5 points and almost nine rebounds. With Davis also accumulating over two steals and almost two blocks Davis can affect almost every aspect of a game. Moving forward if her efficient shooting can help her improve from the free-throw line her ability to improve her scoring from the line will help her become a more feared scorer, but she has a great foundation to build on.
Brittany Mislivecek-5’9 G-’23-La Crosse Central: Mislivecek is an excellent shooter who hasn’t quite shown it from the field yet. Whether this is due to the difficulty of the shots she takes or other reasons she has a natural shooting touch. From the free-throw line, she shot 88% on almost four attempts a game. She has a shooter’s touch that helps her excel at the line. Without tape, it’s hard to guess what the reason her shooting for the field comes from, but if given open looks I’m confident she would be a high-level shooter.
