The Lions finished 17-5 last season under head coach Shannon Wallhoff. 2021’s Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL , Addy Atkinson, and Kiara Simone Davis are key departures. Wallhoff averaged 16.8 points per game and was one of the best scorers in the state. The Southern Mississippi signee finished her prep career with 2,537 points. Wallhoff also set the national high school record with 581 made 3-pointers.

Westminster Academy will challenge itself with tournaments across Florida and Georgia. Take a look below.
Girardi is a good player with promise. The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 12.6 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting 51 percent from the floor as an eight grader. Giradi has length to score and rebound at a high level. She’s an overall mismatch problem that should only get better with more experience.
Erickson averaged 11.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and four assists per game. Moreover, She went 30-of-95 (32 percent) from deep. Erickson is a three-level scorer on the court. Furthermore, the 5-foot-7 point guard has great vision and playmaking ability. Erickson can do a bit of everything in this offense.
Carey is a 6-foot-1 forward with great athleticism to score in transition. She has plenty of talent to increase her scoring average after averaging 4.7 points per game. In addition, look for her to use her length and improved touch around the rim. On the glass, Carey averaged eight boards per contest. Her role in that area should only increase with the loss of Atkinson. Kemp is a versatile player with talent on the floor. She could be a huge part of this team as the roster is limited.
This is a young group when you include players like Mergilles, Price, Wallhoff, and Kostelides. As I hinted above, its a small unit with only eight players. On the positive side, the Lions have plenty of talent to make up for it. Girardi has game experience to lead this team along with Erickson and Carey.
Westminster Academy will be tested with travel tournaments and always play a tough in-state schedule. They should be fine once they get things going.
