was at a different level than most all season long and as good as she has been over the years, she actually got better this season. She was one of the top shooters in every game, she was stronger than everyone she went up against, and was a “beast” getting to the rim, scoring in the paint, scoring off of offensive rebounds, etc. Her leadership on the floor was amazing and she actually was like a coach and mentor to the younger players. This wasn’t just apparent in the state tournament, but in all the games I saw this season. Girardi and company were on a mission all season long. Lena led her team to the first State Title in Grandview Prep school history. She averaged 33.5 ppg and 21 rpg in dominating fashion as the clear-cut top player in Class 1A. Lena was the most impressive player all week in Lakeland!

is among the top players in the State and country, and for the second tournament in a row, Girardi was a standout. In Wesley Chapel, Girardi and company played without a point guard and the Senior took on a lot of ball handling duties and was dominant, including a 31 point performance against the Bulldogs from Folsom, CA. At the New Years Classic, Girardi brought enough fireworks for everyone. Here are some of the explosive plays she had against Bolles, one of the top teams in North Florida:
Three Pointer from the top right elbow, Spin move on a fast break finish , Score off of the in-bound pass, Baseline floater off the glass, Midrange 2 pointer, A three pointer from the corner, an offensive putback after an athletic rebound, another spin move in the paint, etc.
Girardi played well on the defensive end and also made plays in transition and on the glass.

was probably the most consistent shooter at this event. I watched her against Ribault and I don’t remember her missing. She connected on at least 5 threes along with a lot of conversions on the paint. Girardi played with great confidence and that was as impressive as the shooting itself. In addition to her shooting, her leadership on the floor and directing her teammates to the proper spots on the floor was inspiring. Girardi is a nationally ranked player and her game looked college ready. She was also a different level shooter.

Girardi has received an offer from Purdue. Girardi is a lights-out shooter with an exceptional ability to score from long range. Her shooting prowess forces defenses to stretch, creating opportunities for her to drive to the rim effectively. In addition to her scoring skills, she is a dynamic playmaker who sets up her teammates for success. Girardi’s combination of shooting, driving, and playmaking makes her a highly valuable player on the court.

The 5-11 rising junior is the true definition of a two-way player as she continues to improve her game. Girardi is an elite shotmaker and play creator where she gets her teammates involved as well. Girardi has one of the smoothest shooting strokes I’ve seen across the state and it has only improved over the course of the summer. Her defensive game is also elite to watch as she can guard positions 1 through 4 where the opposition has trouble getting off a good shot.

Girardi is a talented forward who is picking up plenty of offers from across the nation. She uses her strength and size to attack the rim, embracing contact and getting herself to the free throw line. On the defensive end, those same attributes allow for her to guard multiple positions and rebound the ball well. She averages about 20 pts a game, shooting 50 percent from the three point line. She is efficient and patient on both ends of the floor. Girardi’s game is impressive and a must see this summer.
