UIL-6A Watch-Converse Judson & Plano East

I know we are in #PostLiterateSociety where the headlines are glances at or many try and absorb a story in 280 characters or less but one more time, Desoto is the team to beat, Duncanville is the best team I have seen so far this year, both are in Region 2 as well as in the same district and the preview of the top 4 comes from the preseason rankings <a href="https://tabchoops.org/uil-girls-rankings/">TABC</a> put to so I’ll dive into Plano East who are in Region 1 and Converse Judson who represent Region 4 and tomorrow I’ll preview the Texas Invitational which will have the teams to beat in Region 3 <strong>Plano East </strong> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135365" first="Donovia" last="Hall"]-5’9 SG/SF</strong> Hall was locked at #D1 the first time I saw her in the 6th grade and my exact words were "she may not be related to Aresenio, but she definitely will be a hit" and what a hit she has become as she understands how to control a game from both ends, yeah, she attacks finishes using good body control and power but she can drop the mid to long-range as well as rebound over taller opponents, on both ends <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65919" first="Kayla" last="Cooper"]-5’9 CG</strong> Cooper can hypnotize defenders with her ballhandling and when you add her explosive first step, that will leave many cemented yet her court vision will play a key role with a variety of options for teammates that can score however she too understands how to put the ball in the basket either off the dribble, remember explosive first step, or drop the mid to long-range jumper <strong>Ada Anamewke-5’10 PF</strong> Anamweke is going to be one of the key pieces because she will give them another legitimate scoring threat as well as a double-double waiting to happen. She battles for rebounds off the rim, she defends inside and outside the paint and she runs both ends of the floor yet she can finish strongly after contact around the rim, putbacks included, or knock down the midrange <strong>Converse Judson </strong> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135387" first="Amira" last="Mabry"]-6’1 PF</strong> Mabry is "long and athletic" and let me reiterate "that is the base" and over the years, she has kept them loaded by adding to her game and showing she was more than just a rebounder and shot-blocker to a player that could score from the wing off the dribble as well as inside the paint however her defense outside the paint has also been very good, inside the paint was always there <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="311902" first="Zaadiyah" last="Stovall"]-6’0 PF</strong> Stovall is coming off a monster club season where she was added to PGH Texas Top 100 yet her upside is still very good. She's "long and athletic" see above, and that's how she plays as well, above the defender with her UPS attacking the rim to finish at times acrobatically not to leave out her elevating off the ground to drop the jumper <strong>Kierstin Sanderlin-5’8 SG</strong> Sanderlin had a breakout summer as well and watching her just take off, not only in the open court, but her game itself had me smiling as she scored using good body control when she attacked, finished with contact as well, or showed she could drop the midrange consistently but even more impressive was her "on the ball" defense which includes baseline to baseline
