Every one of these athletes is a high-level player that has put in constant work throughout their high school career to stand out and show who they are on the court. It is time for these names to blow up!!!
Adriana Bachman Adriana Bachman 5'7" | SG Poston Butte | 2023 State AZ – Junior – 5’7″ – Poston Butte High School
As an underclassman during the 2020-2021 high school basketball season, Adriana made a name for herself through her versatility on the court. She helped lead the Poston Butte Lady Broncos to an overall record of 13-6 and a conference record of 7-1. Bachman averaged 13.3 points per game along with 5.5 rebounds and 5.4 steals per game last year to bring a quick spark for her team. She is a great defender with the ability to knock down the three-ball when hot. Three games this season, Bachman scored 20+ points and she had one game with 31 points against Cortez towards the end of the year. This will be a name to keep your eye on in the 4A Black Canyon Division.
Emily Shedd – Senior – 5’7″ – Vista Grande High School
Emily is an upcoming senior point guard for the Vista Grande Lady Spartans that averaged 11.7 points per game for a total of 152 points scored last school year. She received the MaxPreps Player of the Game three times throughout the 2020-2021 basketball season against Estrella Foothills, Tempe, and Coronado. In the matchup with the Tempe Lady Buffaloes, Shedd put up a double-double, scoring 17 points and securing 10 rebounds for the 45-34 win. In multiple games, she has shown a lot of fight and the ability to get to the basket.
Sierra Badger – Senior – 5’5″ – Poston Butte High School
This five-foot-five scrappy senior for the Poston Butte Lady Broncos is one to watch out for in the upcoming basketball season. Sierra is the type of player that can get the job done at any position on the floor. She is the aggressor on both ends of the court and will make you pay by getting to the rim or picking up the steal. Badger averaged 10.9 points per game for a total of 208 points scored for the season. She also averaged 3.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 steals per game. Sierra had an outstanding double-double performance against San Tan Foothills late in the season scoring 17 points and 10 assists. Shown signs of a leader to her teammates.
Kilah Fowler – Junior – 5’6″ – Poston Butte High School
Fowler is another athlete from Poston Butte to make it on our Under the Radar standouts in the 4A Black Canyon Division. She is a five-foot-six small forward for the Lady Broncos that averaged 8.7 points per game for a total of 165 points for the season. Kilah had a top-notch performance in an 83-51 win against Coronado scoring 31 points and bringing down 6 big-time offensive boards for her team. Has the ability to knock down the three when open and finds a creative way to get open.
Alina Williams – Junior – 5’4″ – Coronado High School
Alina Williams is an upcoming junior point guard/shooting guard for the Coronado Lady Dons. Although the team as a whole struggled last season with their 1-17 overall record, Williams still showed her skills and that she is a solid basketball player. As a sophomore, she averaged 8.3 points per game for a total of 141 points on the season. Alina is not shy about shooting from behind the arc and will pull up contested or not. The type of player that is going to give it her all on the court, no matter the score or outcome of the game.
