With the high school season just around the corner, I wanted to follow the versatile defender’s piece with versatile offensive players. These players are malleable and can fit in almost any offensive style. I believe these players are some of the most versatile players in the state heading into the season.
[player_tooltip player_id="156106" first="Tahlia" last="Moe"]-5’10 G/F-’23-Stevens Point: Moe is a winning player that makes pays to back that up. You likely won’t see Moe scoring 30 points all that often, if ever. What you will find is Moe doing anything and everything to help her team win. If her team needs a creator on offense, Moe will fill that role. If her team needs to get into the paint more, Moe can do that too. Moe’s offensive game is well-rounded, which showed her sophomore season. I urge anyone looking for a jack-of-all-trades kind of player to look at Moe. She may not pop with stats as some other players do, but she is a gifted player. A small anecdote to end for Moe, she is the kind of player you have to kick out of the gym. At the Top250 expo in Appleton, Moe was first onto the floor getting shots up before anyone.
[player_tooltip player_id="206581" first="Audrey" last="Deptula"]-6’0 G/F-’23-Middleton: Deptula is a guard in a forwards body. She has a good handle and uses screens to get open shots. She has a lot of lift on her floater and jumper, so people can’t contest it. Her mixture of size, skill, Basketball IQ makes her incredibly hard to stop. At her size, you can ask her to do anything, and she’s going to excel at it.
[player_tooltip player_id="342100" first="Sadie" last="Jarmolowicz"]-5’9 G-’23-Freedom: Jarmolowicz is as versatile as they come. A hard cut from the versatile defender’s piece yesterday, she makes today’s, based on offensive versatility. How I see Jarmolowicz’s position on the floor is she doesn’t have one. I see her just as a player. Jarmolowicz is a playmaker due to her ability to find open cutters, push the pace, and make the right play. Jarmolowicz also chases some offensive rebounds to get her Freedom team extra possessions. You may not notice her playing if you’re not paying attention. That said, No. 2 finds the ball more times than not.
[player_tooltip player_id="209609" first="Mya" last="Nicholson"]-5’10 G/F-’24-Janesville Craig: Nicholson is a unique talent. Her shooting is probably her most noticeable attribute. That might be what schools see most of her, and that’s fair. Nicholson possesses a unique skill set for size. What I like about her game most is her grab-and-go ability after collecting a defensive rebound. Seeing her grab a rebound, push it into the paint, and hit a turnaround jumper was eyebrow-raising. Nicholson also is a solid passer on the perimeter. As an initiator on offense, Nicholson has a lot of potential that you may see more of in the summer just due to the talent at Craig at this current moment.
