The future of Texas girl’s basketball gave me a sideline view on some of the stars coming up as well as where they’re playing because of incomplete or erroneous rosters during the club season as well as "lack of communication" from ADULTS yet I got it. Two players, in particular, [player_tooltip player_id="307755" first="Joy" last="Egbuna"] and [player_tooltip player_id="307754" first="Kinsea" last="Logan"] are already on my 2025 Watchlist, they made the Honorable Mention list for Mansfield Lakeridge, and when you factor in Gavyn Robinson, that’s a nice trifecta. Also, check out what’s coming for Cibolo Steele as they have four who are going to be making plenty of noise but here ya go
Kynlee Kejonen-6’0 PF (Barbers Hill)
Kejonen was at last seasons PassThaBall Select 40 Showcase and I said this "Kejonen has some pretty scary upside because she stands at “the magic number already” she battles for everything she blocks shots and she finishes strong but watching her numerous “and ones” in the paint, yes, she finishes after drawing contact as well as her playing the passing lane tells me a whole lot about what’s coming" and as usual, I was on the money because her upside is truly scary. I said she finished strong but she’s doing it after contact as well as facing the basket to score
Kamryn Phoenix-5’6 G (Cibolo Steele)
Phoenix was on hand for the Alamo City Hoops I-35 Showdown and this was my take " had plenty of upside as she showed she could drop it from outside with a hand in her face and then she put it on the floor and did a good job of attacking and finishing as well as attacking and dishing the ball but her poise and ball-handling under pressure was also impressive" and only a few months later, she’s settling in with more poise and a lot of pressure on the defensive end
Mariah Davis-5’9 G/F (Clear Falls)
Davis left a definite lasting impression as I truly caught another side of her and let me drop that hashtag #THROWBACK because she definitely BATTLES against older and taller players and trust me, I love this because "it’s something you can’t teach" so that as well as her defense plus she scored on putbacks and dropped the short jumper so her upside has me on notice
Kayla King -5’6 G (Converse Judson)
King turned out to be "Queen" of several games I caught her playing with her San Antonio Lady Hoops squad, yes they gave me a shirt, and no, this ain’t nepotism yet if you watch her closely while you’re guarding her, get ready for some hypnotism because she can be dazzling at times with the ball and her ability to drop the shots in the clutch just did it. She’s now understanding how to contribute without being the main option and this will help her evolve into an even better player so "getting hers in the flow" coupled with upside will have me yelling KAY KAY !!!!
Gavyn Robinson-5’3 PG (Mansfield Lakeridge)
Robinson has been in front of me several times yet, and this is why I love Pass Tha Ball events, this is what I said about Robinson at last season’s Super 60 " once again, size don’t matter when? When you can play and she can not only play but she understands how to control the tempo and make the right passes to the right people. Good court vision and ball-handling but she also created her shot while being defended and showed she could attack and finish with power" so fast forward to Texas Invitational and what has changed? Absolutely nothing, her game has been enhanced by playing against older and stronger players but it’s also helped with her poise under pressure as well as learning how to control the tempo, good upside
Honorable Mention
Kristian Hieskill (Cibolo Steele)
Breanna McMillan (Cibolo Steele)
Arie Miller (Cibolo Steele)
Korina Garcia-5’3 G (Converse Judson)
Samantha Truitt-5’7 G (Cy Ranch)
[player_tooltip player_id="307755" first="Joy" last="Egbuna"]-6’2 P (Mansfield Lake Ridge)
[player_tooltip player_id="307754" first="Kinsea" last="Logan"]-5’9 G (Mansfield Lakeridge)
Krysten Carter-5’7 G (Westside)
Helen Rieke-6’0 (Spring Branch Memorial)
Emily Clanton-6’1 (Spring Branch Memorial)
