I was able to attend the event the final day on Saturday Nov. 27 and here’s a look at some of the top players from the class of 2022 that I saw.
1. Maya Stokes – Windward
Stokes has a great slashing game. She can get to the rim and finish through contact. She does a good job drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. Good body control to absorb the contact. She’s tough to guard getting downhill. She can handle the ball in transition and she hits defenders with a quick burst of speed. Good catch and shoot player from three-point range. She’s a good wing defender who has quick hands to come up with steals.
2. Isuneh Brady Isuneh Brady 6'3" | SF Cathedral Catholic | 2022 State #2 Nation CA – Cathedral Catholic
A UConn commit, Brady is the prototypical big in today’s game. She gets good position in the paint and she can finish around the rim. She’s developed a versatile offensive game as well. She has range out to the three-point line and she can face up and knock down the midrange jumper. She’s got the tools to be a good defensive player in the paint. She has good length and challenges shots at the rim.
3. Taylor Feldman Taylor Feldman 5'7" | SG Crean Lutheran HS | 2022 State CA – Crean Lutheran
Feldman is capable of playing both guard positions. She seems like more of a scoring guard but she can handle the ball and make plays for teammates as well. She can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. Good body control to finish through traffic and she can get to the free-throw line. Nice step-through moves to get into the paint. She’s good in transition as a finisher. In the game I saw, she took over down the stretch with her scoring and crashed the glass very well.
4. Kyra Prendergast – Rolling Hills Prep
This was my second time seeing Prendergast play and she’s the type of player who does a lot of little things that help win games. She may not have much height, but she’s a good rebounder. She fights in traffic and she can clean up misses around the rim. She keeps possessions alive on the offensive glass and can kick back out to the ball-handlers to reset the offense. If she gets the opportunity, she can finish offensively around the rim.
