When we made the decision to expand the size of the Prep Girls Hoops rankings for the older classes, we did so because it had become too difficult to leave players out who were clearly college prospects. As the talent pool has grown, and the number of prospects has increased, we needed to make room. We have now grown the list to 180 and, as a result, the door has been opened wide enough for some previously ranked players to return to the fray. Some had fallen off the list due to long-term injuries. Others were simply bumped by talented kids who came along and took their place. We are pleased to welcome back six athletes who were in the rankings at some point since this class was first sorted in the fall of 2018 and now return.
<strong>THE RETURNERS</strong>
#129 – [player_tooltip player_id="147461" first="Mackenzie" last="Sapp"] – The 5’7 guard from Chanhassen is a gritty competitor who can handle the basketball and defends with passion.
#168 – [player_tooltip player_id="147459" first="Megan" last="Wegner"] – Another scrappy guard, the 5’7 senior from Marshall and Minnesota Nice has committed to Bethany Lutheran in Mankato.
#170 – [player_tooltip player_id="147462" first="Kara" last="Hoag"] – The crafty point guard from Maple Grove has been a long-time mainstay with the Metro Stars. Although she’s hidden on a deep high school roster, Kara is a next-level baller for sure.
#176 – [player_tooltip player_id="147467" first="Emily" last="Roach"] – Emily has dealt with injuries that have hampered her along the way but the 5’7 guard from Jefferson is a coach’s kid who plays the game the right way.
#175 – [player_tooltip player_id="109189" first="Hannah" last="Heffernan"] – The 5’9 guard from Roseville and the Minnesota Heat is a strong athlete with a big frame whose best basketball lies ahead.
#178 – [player_tooltip player_id="147460" first="Brooke" last="Niska"] – The crafty little guard from Mountain Iron-Buhl continues to play much bigger than her size in a strong program that demands the most from its players.
<strong>THE QUEEN BEE</strong>
Our highest-ranked newcomer to the list is guard [player_tooltip player_id="356104" first="Sydney" last="Anderson"] of Perham and ND Pro, a tireless workhorse who comes in at #114. The 5’7 senior does a lot of things well. She has a high basketball IQ, excellent court vision and really nice handles. Her overall court presence and ability to execute under pressure has earned her two All-Conference selections for the Yellowjackets. But what really gets Perham’s home gym buzzing – it’s a stunning venue called ‘The Hive’ – is Sydney’s three-point shooting. On a team known for its long-bomb prowess, Anderson can make it rain from downtown.

<strong>SOME BIG ARRIVALS</strong>
#165 – [player_tooltip player_id="339226" first="Shelby" last="Mortenson"] – The 6’1 post from Yellow Medicine East had a strong showing at the Top 250 Expo. She has a big body, nice length and has no problem banging bodies in the trenches.
#166 – [player_tooltip player_id="356078" first="Alex" last="Bettcher"] – The 6’1 forward from Detroit Lakes has a big frame, plenty of strength and moves well for her size. The lefty can also shoot it. She averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds per game last season.
#173 – [player_tooltip player_id="356101" first="Adit" last="Koth"] – The 6-foot power forward from Rochester Mayo (photo above) has a ton of potential. She has worked hard with Air Minnesota AAU to build her game and it is paying off with a commitment to Crown College.
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-208576" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/196_Kimori-Morris_1-300x217.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="217" />
<strong>SMALLER BALLERS</strong>
#164 – [player_tooltip player_id="356077" first="Kaylee" last="Hunter"] – The crafty 5’6 guard often gets lost in the very big shadows cast by her Minnesota Valley Lutheran teammate [player_tooltip player_id="147454" first="Abbie" last="Riederer"] but the Bethany Lutheran commit is a talent in her own right.
#171 – [player_tooltip player_id="356085" first="Jade" last="Reese"] – The 5’7 guard from Greenbush-Middle River blew our socks off at the University of North Dakota Elite Camp with her speed, quickness and athleticism.
#172 – [player_tooltip player_id="356086" first="Flo" last="Tuazama"]– The 5’7 guard from Maple Grove and Minnesota Stars Fleming is utterly fearless. She excels against bigger, stronger guards on a regular basis.
#174 – [player_tooltip player_id="356107" first="Kimori" last="Morris"] – The speedy 5’5 dynamo from Irondale (photo above) has been a fixture on the AAU circuit with Start Strong Finish Stronger. She’s a consistent performer with speed, quickness and energy.
<strong>THE SLEEPER</strong>
#169 – [player_tooltip player_id="356084" first="Krisalyn" last="Seeyle"] – The 5’10 small forward from Cass Lake-Bena and Playmakers North is one of the most intriguing players in the class. She is super long, has light feet and moves across the court with ease and grace. As a senior it’s getting late in the development game but with the right focus, attention to detail and level of effort, Krisalyn could be something very special.
