Fall Exclusive: Week 2 Top Performers

In this article:
Week 2 at the Fall Exclusive had no shortage of great play from players that have or will become household names in the immediate future. We had half court buzzer beaters, blowouts, nail biters, the whole shebang. Below is my list of players that drew my attention and left me wanting more.
Mya Wilson – 2027 wing, Mahtomedi
If I didn’t know better, I would have easily thought Wilson was at least a freshman with how poised she played Friday night. Her Fighting Hawks squad was matched up against

’s Pioneers squad and she more than held her own. She was tasked with guarding both 2025 standouts and I never saw her buckle or play as if she didn’t belong. She even banked in a big bucket in the paint with less than a minute to go to help her team secure a three-point win. After the game I chatted her up for a minute and she was super humble and showed how much respect and admiration she had for Ode. "She’s really good!" Mya said. Grant and I just chuckled and agreed with her astute observation.

– 2026 guard, Maple Grove
Maple Grove has an embarrassment of riches waiting in the wing as this gem will be playing another season of traveling ball before she dons the Crimson jersey next winter. In the meantime she was punishing defenses Friday night with her precision pinpoint passes, smooth jump shot and ball handling. Holmquist is a natural leader as she was encouraging and lifting teammates regardless of skill level and class.

Gabby has always been a talented, quick defender, but you can see she’s been putting in the work on the offensive end as her full arsenal was on display Friday night. 3-ball corner pocket, book it. In-and-out stutter step explosion to the cup for an uncontested layup. Yup! She’s is going to be a real problem for defenses all winter long. Get your popcorn ready!

– 2025 guard, Eastview
Maull is my type of guard – quick, physical and plays with a chip on her shoulder. Maull seemed to have a little something to prove as she looked across the court and saw another 2025 stud in Rory Goddard warming up. From the outset Maull was all business whether it was attacking the rim off the bounce or taking smaller guards down to the block and punishing them with her physicality. Goddard promised she’d give me something to write about next week, but in the meantime, Maull won this round.
Gabby Fors – 2024 guard, Lakeville North
Fors isn’t what you would consider flashy by any means, but she just gets it done. During her first game of the night she calmly came down and opened the game up with a 3-pointer to get the ball rolling, and after that she continued to get to her spot and score from all three levels. She made the play all night whether that was knocking down jumpers, squeezing through creases to get to the basket or hitting open teammates. What I love about Fors’ game is she can fit into any system and do whatever is asked of her.

– 2025 guard, Duluth Marshall
Regan is as durable as they come as she played in four complete games on Friday, two for her Pioneers team and then joined a short-handed squad for the 7:40 and 8:20 games and did not show any signs of fatigue. She was the consummate teammate as she cheered as if she’d been playing with this group for weeks. She ran the floor, passed ahead and took opportunities when they were there. During her games with the Pioneers, she was the perfect compliment to

as they went 1-1 on the night winning one by 3 and dropping the other by 3.

– 2024 forward, Spring Lake Park
I’m told Sutch comes from a family of hockey players and her game confirms it as she’s as tough as they come. She’s an undersized power forward but holds her own against any and everybody. Week one she was matched up with Lakeville’s Trinity Wilson and I’m sure Wilson was happy when that was over as Sutch made her work for everything she got. Friday night Sutch was just as active. She runs the floor, bangs in the paint and does all the dirty work most players want no part of.
As I’ve mentioned before the class of 2025 is chalked full of talented players and Friday night

(2025, Eden Prairie) showed why their names will always be in the conversation. With a little greasing of the wheels we ensured these two talented players would have the opportunity to check each during their game as when you have mixed classes competing in these showcases sometimes you don’t get these marquee match-ups. They were definitely up to the task as they each led their teams with 15 points. It came down to the wire with Rae’s Fighting Hawks edging out Ode’s Pioneers 64-61.
