On my last session of the day, I was overly excited to catch not only some of the top players in the state but some players I knew nothing about for whatever reasoning but here we go 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="96925" first="Shelby" last="Hayes"]-6’2 C/F (Cedar Park) Hayes was virtually unstoppable on the inside and when you fact or her size, strength, hands, and footwork, you should get it yet she gives it consistently as she finished with either hand after contact but the Rice signee also showed another side of her game and that’s dropping the mid to long-range jumper, plus she does a good job rebounding on both ends [player_tooltip player_id="135359" first="Sydney" last="Ward"]-5’11 SG/SF (The Village) Ward showed she didn’t have to score a bunch to be effective yet I already knew that but her "on the ball" defense as well as playing the passing lane coupled with her seeing the floor were all huge in their win yet don’t get it twisted, she dropped the jumper when needed and gave me some acrobatic finishes 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="134028" first="Gisella" last="Maul"]-5’10 CG (Cedar Park) Maul showed just how valuable she is as she didn’t play the first quarter and changed the momentum when she stepped on the court however her attacking the basket and finishing strongly, yes after contact included, plus that jumper , either in the set or in transition was nice, so was her court vision [player_tooltip player_id="267340" first="Peyton" last="Freiermuth"]-5’7 CG (Austin Westlake) Freieruth ran the 1 well, distributed the ball to give her teammates good looks and she handled the heat from the Cedar Park defense which was plenty hot yet she also understands how to control the tempo and not get flustered, she can drop the mid the long-range, as well as score off the dribble yet those on the money passes, were nice [player_tooltip player_id="331959" first="Elizabeth" last="Walton"]-5’7 SG (The Village) Walton was in her second full game since coming back from the volleyball court and she definitely was more than ready dropping 21 points from a variety of ways yet what I enjoy most about her is her ability to show the slight HEZ, that’s HEZZIE or hesitation, to get to the rim and finish, it is smooth and pretty consistent yet that jumper ain’t nothing to take lightly [player_tooltip player_id="204180" first="Tobi" last="Ademuwagun"]-6’0 SF (The Village) Ademuwagun is softened mentioned by me about her POWER as well as her desire to REBOUND so the BATTLING has been established, those highlight-worthy acrobatic finishes pump me up because she does it with players virtually hanging on her yet she dropped 6 three-pointers on her way to 28 points, she continues to add pieces to her puzzle Adaugo Okpala-5’10 G (McKinney) Okpala was unbeknownst to me yet she left a lasting impression with her ballhandling, well SWB, speed with the ball, in the open court where she stayed under control yet she also took defenders off the dribble to score, her first step is very nice and she did a good job seeing the floor as well as playing the passing lane 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="270661" first="Giona" last="Angiolet"]-5’10 G (Austin Westlake) Angiolet can shoot the ball yet she showed other aspects of her game like applying pressure on defense in the half court and forcing opposing players to "pick up their dribble" but she also rebounded, on both ends of the court and was vocal as well as did a good job seeing the floor Sam Tilson-6’0 PF (McKinney) Tilson is tall, she’s at "the magic number" and I love her upside but she did a good job rebounding, on both ends of the court, even scored strongly on putbacks as well as facing the basket inside the paint but she also showed she could score from outside as she dropped the mid to long range
