We looked at the guards in Part 1 of the fall league recap, now let’s take a look at some wings that stood out. There are a lot of hidden gems amongst this group of wing players that college coaches won’t want to miss out on. At the time of Fall League, none of these young ladies had committed to any school yet. It won’t be long though, as all of these young ladies are hard workers on and off the court. [player_tooltip player_id="248651" first="Samantha" last="Hardison"] - Orange Park | ’22 Samantha is a welcomed addition to the Orange Park Lady Raiders. She has already proved valuable in taking on some of the ball-handling duties and the toughest defensive assignment. This frees up Senior [player_tooltip player_id="91582" first="Nia" last="Brown"] and Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="331745" first="Eris" last="Lester"] to have more energy to score on offense. She can also score on a consistent basis. Samantha is a lefty who prefers to go right on the drive and can step out to hit a jump shot when needed. She is a coach’s dream because she is willing to do whatever it takes for her team to win. [player_tooltip player_id="248618" first="Kayla" last="Johnson"] - Sandalwood | ’22 Kayla is now the leader of her team and she is already thriving in the role. She has a good jump shot and is a good defender. She is a quiet leader that leads by example doing all the little things that might not show up on a stat sheet. Kayla is part of a dynamic one-two punch for Sandalwood alongside [player_tooltip player_id="91643" first="Jada" last="Jones"] creating a potentially deadly inside-out combination, especially if they are on the same side of the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="247231" first="Abby" last="Kanady"] - Providence | ’23 Abby is a consistent 3-point shooter. She will give opposing teams headaches if she gets on fire from behind the arch. She does a great job at finding the open space to be set up for a shot. Abby has great chemistry with her teammate [player_tooltip player_id="247233" first="Ella" last="Ortman"], who always seems to find her wide open for a 3-pointer. She is not just a 3-point shooter though. She runs the lane well in transition for easy lay-ups off of turnovers. [player_tooltip player_id="91656" first="Aja" last="Pollard"] - Bartram Trail | ’23 Aja does a little bit of everything for her team. She will have increased ball-handling duties and will be looked upon to score more this season with Angel Roman and Moira McCarthy having graduated. Aja seems to already be up to the challenge especially with her teammate Dyllan Hanna not playing in every game this fall. She is very strong and has good footwork to be able to finish around the basket. She looks poised to have a breakout junior season. [player_tooltip player_id="248553" first="Kendall" last="Kane"] - Bartram Trail | ’25 Kendall is a freshman but is already making a good impact on the floor for Bartram Trail. She looks primed to fill in the gap in the areas of ball-handling and outside shooting that was created by departing seniors Angel and Moira. Kendall has already developed good chemistry with teammates [player_tooltip player_id="91656" first="Aja" last="Pollard"] and Dyllan Hanna and which could be a formidable triple threat. She will likely have a large role on the team as a freshman and will probably be in a starting role.
