Sydney Lomeli-Capen – Junior – Flowing Wells High School
As an underclassman, Lomeli-Capen turned heads in the 5A Sonoran region after a captivating sophomore season. Helping lead her team to an overall winning record of 15-4 and undefeated in conference play, Sydney averaged 6.8 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game in 18 games played. She plays aggressively down low on both ends of the floor and makes an effort to hustle back to get into the correct position. In a close win over Cactus Shadows late in the season, #42 had 10 points, 6 rebounds (1 offensive, 5 defensive), 1 steal and 2 blocks to really help impact the game. There is a bright future ahead.
Katie Burns Katie Burns 5'7" | PG Catalina Foothills | 2023 State AZ – Junior – 5’7″ – Catalina Foothills High School
Returning for another year with the Catalina Foothills Lady Falcons is five-foot-seven, Katie Burns Katie Burns 5'7" | PG Catalina Foothills | 2023 State AZ . Burns averaged 7.8 points, 4.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per game as a sophomore last season. Even though the team as a whole may have struggled a little, Katie still stood out in multiple games. In a big game early in February against Tucson High Magnet School, she had 25 points and shot 40% from behind the arc. The confidence is already there for the young Lady Falcon and I am looking forward to seeing her continue to grow as a player.
Juliette Graves – Senior – 5’7″ – Casa Grande High School
Captain for the Casa Grande Lady Cougars is Juliette Graves, a five-foot-seven, combo guard that will be back to take the court for her senior year. Graves averaged 4.9 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 2.4 steals per game, and 1.6 assists per game to help her team throughout the 2020-2021 high school basketball season. With 34 steals during the year and eight in the season opener against Marana, it is safe to say that she knows when to use her quick hands and feet to her advantage.
Emma Rozelle – Senior – Marana High School
Senior, Emma Rozelle will be returning to the court for the Marana Lady Tigers for the last time this season after a solid junior year. Rozelle averaged 6.5 points per game, accompanied by 1.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and, 1.5 steals per game. She gave her all during her minutes leading to a total of 65 points scored. Almost 1/3 of her points came from the three-point line and in a game towards the end of the season against Empire High School, Emma shot the ball 75% from deep. This is not the player that you want to let heat up or get comfortable. If you do, it could end up being a long night.
Allie Cartier – Senior – Catalina Foothills High School
Another stand-out for the Lady Falcons is “big man” down low, #14 Allie Cartier. During the 2020-2021 basketball season, she averaged 5.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game over the course of 11 games played. Cartier also used her quick hands to secure 1.5 steals per game and 1.3 blocks per game! In a 51-33 win over Empire High School early in the season, Allie had eight points and nine rebounds, six of the rebounds were on the offensive end of the floor leading to second-chance put-backs for her team.
