The Village School is in somewhat of a rebuilding process after sandwiching a TAPPS 6A State Championship in between a couple of runner-ups finishes so to say this school has been on the map for a minute would be an understatement yet with Jada Malone (Texas A&M) Tymberlin Crisswell (SMU) both graduated and [player_tooltip player_id="96125" first="RyLee" last="Grays"] transferring, they’re new Big 3 of [player_tooltip player_id="135359" first="Sydney" last="Ward"], [player_tooltip player_id="331959" first="Elizabeth" last="Walton"], and [player_tooltip player_id="204180" first="Tobi" last="Ademuwagun"] are ready to make another run yet they have some players that will contribute
<strong>The Village</strong>
<strong>Anora Lee-PG 2022</strong>
Lee was impressive at the 1, first of all, she handled the ball well under pressure and didn’t force plays, not to mention, she understood how to control the tempo and that means when it was an opportunity to push the ball, she did it and when that opportunity wasn’t there, she ran the plays but her court vision, as well as her ability to create her shot under pressure, was nice, watching her attack off the dribble to score or dish and that pull-up was sweet
<strong>Amina Djibrine Sy-SF 2023</strong>
Sy is "long and athletic" and always remember "that’s the base" I use when evaluating yet more importantly, so do college coaches and she’s nowhere near the finished product however her first step, her strength going towards the rim and her powerful finishes, all in itself are valuable pluses but she also rebounds, on both ends and showed she could "man up" in a hunnid but the "on the ball defense" wasn’t all as she played the passing lane a few times
<strong>Margaret Davis-SG 2023</strong>
Davis came in and showed why she has the green light as her mid to long-range look good but her release, yeah it’s quick in fact her ability to "catch and shoot" also was nice but she doesn’t force shots, which is a good thing and she also understands how to let the game come to her by scoring in the flow but as much as I enjoyed watching her form on the release, she showed she could take the defender off the dribble and score as well
<strong>Booker T Washington </strong>
<strong>Samantha Anaya-PG 2024</strong>
Anaya was "poised under pressure" and trust me, the pressure was heavy yet her being "vocal on the court" stood out, so did her ability to avoid being trapped so being heady is always good and it helps when you can handle the ball so she zig-zagged by the defender in the open court and created her shot in the half-court, this was either a pull-up jumper which she can knock down or slicing to the basket yet she also saw the floor well and made pinpoint passes on the money
<strong>Chloe Cleare-CG 2025</strong>
Cleare didn’t show any freshmen jitters, that’s a good sign yet an even better one was "her desire to play defense" which is something you can’t teach and I love THROWBACK stuff you can’t teach. She battled for rebounds as well as looses balls and tied her man up a few times but she also showed she could take the defender off the dribble, love her upside
