Katie Fishbone – Newark Academy
Fishbone got her season off to a fantastic start, with 10 points, eight rebounds and six steals in an eventual 13-point loss to Wildwood. Newark Academy played in just four games last season, so she hasn’t seen much of the court in the past two years. However, Wednesday was a flashback to sophomore year, where Fishbone averaged just under 12.0 PPG. A full season will get this guard back to form.
Grace Speer – Atlantic Tech
Speer had a fantastic game in an eventual loss for Atlantic Tech, recording 20 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks to lead the Red Hawks. It was her second-straight 20-point game this season and the senior has been on fire since the start. She’s one of the best pure scorers in the Cape-Atlantic League and her playmaking ability has steadily improved the past three years into a dominant force.
Imene Fathi Imene Fathi 5'4" | PG Wildwood | 2022 State NJ – Wildwood
Fathi is a do-it-all guard who excels from beyond the arc and on the break. She’s the backbone of this Wildwood team and paced the team with 15 points, four assists, three steals and two made three-pointers in a 50-37 win over Newark Academy. The senior has been consistent on both ends of the floor and her three-point shooting is her strong-suit.
Kara Wilson – Egg Harbor Township
Wilson hasn’t been much of a factor on the floor the past two season for EHT, playing in just 20 games, but on Wednesday, she had a career day in a 55-14 win over Freire Charter (PA), with 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and six steals. She’s averaging 6.8 PPG and 6.0 RPG through four games this season and has been a big impact player on this team. She’s an underrated name to keep a watchful eye on.
Katerina Dakos – Newark Academy
Dakos improved leaps and bounds over the summer and has turned into the best forward on Newark Academy. We saw more of that in Sunday’s loss against Wildwood as she put up a team-high 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Dakos looks much more comfortable down low and has great mobility for a forward. She’s going to develop into an excellent shot-blocker for this program.
