Sania Thompson-6’2 C (Mayde Creek)
Thompson has always been on my radar and watching her progression over the years has been a treat. She’s “long and athletic”, always remember that’s the base I use for certain profiles but more importantly, college coaches use it too and they offer chances to play at the next level. She elevates over defenders to score, the cover photo gives you a glimpse yet those UPS also enable her to rebound on both ends, yes she finishes strongly on putbacks but she also defends and drumroll please, she plays the passing lane
Atria Dumas-6’2 C (North Shore)
Dumas has evolved over the years to be a legitimate next-level player, first of all, she’s “long and athletic” with a 6’4 wingspan so when her hands go up, she definitely changes the opponent’s shot yet she has good timing to block those same shots. What I really enjoy is her turning it on offensively, she has been primarily a defensive stopper yet over the club season, something changed that has nothing to do with hearing Beyonce or Madonna, her old club team plays, yet “Just Do It”
Emei St Laurent (Oak Ridge)
St Laurent’s surname is one of my “go-to” fragrances yet she uses her body well to be their “go-to” on the floor. She uses her body well, let me start with her understanding positioning and that makes it difficult to outrebound her so she definitely grabs the missed shots on both ends and showed she could score on putbacks, her body is strong enough to enable her to finish after contact
Kennedy Andrus-6’0 (Cy Woods)
Andrus is serviceable o both ends of the court, she’s long and athletic and reacts well defensively and can also step outside of the paint to guard her many but she also scored off putbacks, after contact, yes she rebounds on both ends of the court and she runs the floor but just watching her battle for boards off the rim was nice as well as her going after loose balls
Tiarra Howard-5’11 (Conroe)
Howard is “long and athletic” and although she doesn’t quite reach”the magic number” which is 6’0.she certainly plays like it as she elevates off the ground for rebounds, in fact, she goes after the ball yet when you factor in she also attacks strongly off the dribble and finishes after contact, huge pluses right there but her timing to block shots is also nice, so was her playing the passing lane which always grabs my attention
