Kirsten Hartmann-5’6 G (Fredericksburg)
Hartmann is showing some pretty impressive potential, first of all, she’s poised under pressure and explosive off the dribble yet her ability to get to the basket and score, this includes after contact is only part of what she does. She does a good job defensively, this includes “on the ball” but watching her play the passing lane and handling the ball in the open court made me smile as I can’t call her “the baby” anymore, the multiple three pointers she dropped placed in her “big girl” category from here on
Lexi Price-5’7 SG (Lovelady)
Price was definitely right as I kept looking at her and wondering where I had seen her play yet she looked totally different on her school team. She stood out almost immediately when she was creating her shot under pressure and after I glanced at the roster and saw what class she was in, I’m scratching my head yet I wasn’t the only one as she grabbed rebounds and went coast to coast fr baskets, scored off the dribble as well as on putbacks, yes she rebounds well yet back to creating her shot, her mid to long-range is ahead of her years
Kamryn Parsons-G (Marion)
Parsons understands how to set the defender up, she has a deceptive first step which enables her to attack the rim yet it also helps that she can down the jumper and pull-up is really nice, so that makes the defender stay honest but her decision making was nice and solid, so is her upside
Breelon Allen-F (Marion)
Allen can score off the dribble and finish after contact, she’s tall and has a good frame to absorb the punishment yet she also uses her body well on the defensive end, and observing her going after the ball after leaving the rim was nice, so was watching her face the basket and drop the jumper from midrange
Gabby Mundy-5’3 G (Liberty Hill)
Mundy is heady and plays within herself which equates to she understands the game and doesn’t force the issue yet she can score in the flow, handle the ball under pressure and see the floor, dropping the 3 off the glass was nice yet let me also drop the hashtag #sizedontmatter when you can play
