By Michael Wholey 12/29/21 9:00 AM EST
<em>We released an updated rankings for the class of 2022 last month. While a number of players have signed during the early signing period, there are also a number of quality players still going through the recruiting process. Here are the top unsigned players in the class of 2022. </em>
<strong>You can take a look at the Class of 2022 Rankings <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/florida/rankings/2022-rankings/">HERE</a>:</strong>
<strong> </strong>
<strong><img class="size-medium wp-image-342594 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/04/Michiyah-Simmons-Blanche-Ely-crop-675x444-1634658798-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" />[player_tooltip player_id="91561" first="Michiyah" last="Simmons"] </strong>(Blanche Ely / Team Knight) – 5’8 Point Guard
<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>15
Simmons unfortunately missed the 2021 spring / summer travel season due to injury. She is our highest ranked player in the class of 2022 that is unsigned. She is an aggressive and athletic playmaker that can go coast to coast in a blink of an eye. The elite athlete is a two way player who gets after it on the defensive end as well, capable of creating havoc as an on ball defender. As stated before, Simmons might be the biggest hidden gem in the class of 2022 and could potentially be an impact player that signs in the late signing period.
<strong> </strong>
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="219993" first="Silkiari" last="Vazquez"] </strong>(Central Pointe Academy) – 5’5 Point Guard
<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>17
Vazquez is a 5’5 point guard who is a steady presence on the court for the highly ranked Central Pointe. Got to see her live earlier in the month at the Polk County Hoopfest and she was a consistent floor distributor, getting the ball to scorers in scoring position while not turning the ball over. Her game is no non-sense, and extremely consistent. She is an extension of the coach on the floor and is very good in transition and half court (especially playing out of ball screens).

<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>21
Blake is the top athlete still available in the class of 2022. At 6’0, she is tall and long and uses her height and length on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor well. She is a versatile player who can play the wing and forward spot and fills up the stat sheet with points, rebounds, and blocks.
<strong> </strong>
<strong><img class=" wp-image-309526 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Brown-scaled-e1626895008159-238x300.jpg" alt="" width="218" height="275" />[player_tooltip player_id="91600" first="Marissa" last="Brown"] </strong>(Choctawhatchee / Essence) – 6’0 Forward
<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>28
Brown was the top 2022 at the Show-N-Prove showcase this fall and continues to grab college coaches’ attention this high school season. Like Blake, she is versatile and can play both the wing and forward spots. Brown separates herself with her old school game, playing strong and physical and not afraid to mix it up down low in the paint. She plays with consistent energy and effort and can guard multiple positions. She is most effective in the interior but has a developing perimeter game as well.
<strong> </strong>
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91567" first="Olivia" last="Delancy"] </strong>(Bogie HS / Hoop Dreams) – 6’0 Wing
<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>31
Delancy has made the move from Carrollwood Day to Bogie has been filling up the stat sheets. Just take a peek at the box score after a game and you can see all the ways Delancy is contributing on the court averaging 15+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 3+ blocks per game. She is a strong, athletic, versatile wing/forward who is making a big impact at Bogie and could potentially be an impact player at the collegiate level if the right opportunity presents itself.
<strong> </strong>
<strong><img class=" wp-image-369842 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/Joey-Delancy-AH-7-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="214" height="214" />[player_tooltip player_id="91566" first="Joey" last="Delancy"] </strong>(American Heritage / Miami Suns) – 5’8 Combo Guard
<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>32
Delancy is someone we have watched her progression since middle school. She is one of the class of 2022s most versatile players, capable of playing the guard, wing and forward position. She is a strong player with a high basketball IQ and a solid offensive skill set. Her strong build allows her to get into the paint and finish vs contact and her consistent shooting from the perimeter opens up the floor for her.
<strong><img class=" wp-image-369841 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/495A6426.jpg" alt="" width="160" height="240" />[player_tooltip player_id="91560" first="Paris" last="Gaines"] </strong>(Jones High School) – 6’3 Forward
<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>34
I got a chance to see Gaines for the first time in two years at the Polk County Hoopfest. At 6’3, her body and mass get your attention immediately. She is deceptively versatile and athletic, capable of grabbing a defensive rebound and starting the fast break, pushing the ball up the court. Handling the ball in transition, she can attack all the way to the rim or drop a dime for an easy hoop for a teammate. She is an extremely intriguing prospect where there are not many 6”0+ players available. With the ability to play inside and out – her best basketball could be ahead of her if she find the right position at the college level.
<strong><img class="wp-image-204974 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/09/Jaela-Davis2-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="114" height="171" />[player_tooltip player_id="91581" first="Jaela" last="Davis"] </strong>(Brooks DeBartolo / Tampa Thunder) – 5’7 Combo Guard
<strong>Overall Rank: </strong>38
Davis is putting up big numbers for Brooks DeBartolo and might be in competition with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91568" first="Zaria" last="Blake"] </strong>for the class of 2022 top athlete. She plays hard and aggressive with a ton of energy. She very rarely takes a play off, competing from the jump ball to the final buzzer, and does it on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.
