Angie Saiter, Haleigh Behnken and I were in the house and will be posting coverage over the next week or so. We all had our teams to cover, so I will be writing about the teams I was responsible for.
Today, a look at the top seniors in the games I covered Sunday morning and early afternoon.
Dabbs Super Seniors (JTTT)
Ma’Kaylia Lute Ma’Kaylia Lute 5'4" | PG Huber Heights Wayne | 2022 OH , 5-4 2022, Huber Heights Wayne
This was the second time I have seen her this early season, and she has taken on the leadership role well for a young Warriors squad. The only senior on the roster, Lute is a shifty guard who moves well, can get herself into position to produce and does a nice job controlling the Wayne offense. She has very solid handles, can use either hand well and does a nice job anticipating the ball well. Like I said she is a leader, and would make a coach at the next level happy with her game on both sides of the ball. She can create space well on offense, and on the defensive end, can play solid on-ball defense. Uncommitted.
Sammi Hoffman, 5-9 2022, Cincinnati Roger Bacon
Sammi is an uncommitted senior who was a big part in their victory over Lakota West on Sunday. She is a quick player with a good shot, has a quick release and is effective from the perimeter. She has good hands on defense, and is scrappy. Sammi can make positive things happen for her team, and with the losses the Spartans had from last year, the senior will have to increase her production. She is an aggressive guard toward the ball and does a nice job on the boards.
Kiley McNally, 5-11 2022, Cincinnati Colerain
You will see the same attributes in the next two players, as not only are they twin sisters, they are both high level NAIA kids who will shine at Marian starting next season. Kiley showed her ability to be a strong player and a physical kid who has good fundamentals in all aspects of the game. She was a strong player in the paint, can score up-and-under against anyone and protects the rim well. She can handle the ball and play multiple positions on the floor.
Abaigeal McNally Abaigeal McNally 5'10" | PF Colerain | 2022 State OH , 6-0 2022, Cincinnati Colerain
While most of what you just read also pertains to Abaigeal, she caught my eye with her ability to produce in transition and finish at the rim. She is also a strong rebounder and did a great job establishing her position in the paint. Very athletic and was able to create from anywhere on the court. Does a great job with her footwork, has good range and defensively, her athleticism causes issues for her opponents.
Margo Abrams, 5-8 2022, Cincinnati Princeton
Opponents better know where Margo is on the court, she showed good quick reactions and she is defensively she is a good solid player who has quick hands, plays good defense and can create turnovers with her good on-ball defense. She does a great job adjusting when she attacks the basket and can score in the paint and play through contact. Uncommitted.
