Breanna Botello (Cy Woods)
Botello impresses me every time I see her which happens to e twice, once at a tournament earlier this season yet she’s long and athletic, that’s the base, she battles for everything off the rim, that’s #THROWBACK and her desire just stands out when she defends and this includes playing the passing lane yet her finishes in the paint, including putbacks are also nice, especially after contact
Shalayne Morgan Shalayne Morgan 5'9" | CG North Shore | 2023 State TX (North Shore)
Morgan leaves me speechless at times, her intensity is unmatched, and to say she’s in a class by herself might be overselling yet it doesn’t take long to call roll yet the role she plays on her team is to “do what it takes” to help them win and her ability to score off the dribble as well as drop the jumper, adds to her game, so does her court vision, yet her smothering defense creates problems and since she handles the ball well, it’s usually a scoring opp when she gets steals from playing the passing lane
Harper Biley (Cy Falls)
Biley just overpowers players on the inside and that’s not only because she’s strong and skilled but also her good hands and footwork play a huge part. She rebounds with authority, that’s that power again, and can score not only off the dribble but she can drop the outside shot but she also did a good job defending not only inside the paint but outside of it as well
Emi Steele (Colleyville Heritage)
Steele was coming back from a minor injury yet I never would have known as her “court presence” is worth points just by being there. Well, it’s also worth points when she has the ball and she understands how to set the defender up with a variety of moves and fakes on the inside yet she can handle the ball well enough to score off the dribble. Nice midrange to go along with solid defense and her rebounding on both ends speaks volumes
Mallory St Denis (Katy Taylor)
St Denis is long and athletic, understands how to create her shot but also when to take it and she can drop it with a hand in her face from outside or she can score off the dribble. She plays the passing lane, has good timing to block shots and she sees the floor well
Amanda Scherpereel (Katy Davis)
Scherpereel can drop it from just about anywhere yet her deep three-pointer only tells part of her story. She creates her shot so well ad since she can put it on the floor and attack and finish, the defense has to give her room which opens up the door for the long ball, well the midrange ain’t bad either. Oh yeah, she rebounds and defends
