Another week of KHSAA basketball is in the books. Here’s a look at the nominees for Player of the Week. These are players who were nominated via Twitter. The poll ends at noon eastern on Friday. Nominations are listed in the order they were received.
Sierra Kemelgor Sierra Kemelgor 5'8" | CG South Oldham | 2022 State KY , South Oldham – Against Eastern, she had 22 points and 7 rebounds then followed that with 39 points and 7 rebounds against Assumption before finishing the week with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 blocks against Shelby County.
Laken Williams Laken Williams 5'4" | PG Martin County | 2024 State KY , Martin County – Against Magoffin County she had 41 points, and 5 steals then had 29 points and 5 steals against Jenkins before putting up 15 points, 4 assists and 4 steals against Paintsville. And her team went 3-0 for the week.
Anaya Chestnut, West Jessamine – The 8th grader had 13 points and 4 rebounds Monday, 23 points and 5 assists on Tuesday then 24 points and 4 steals on Friday. They went 3-0 for the week also.
Carlie Thurmond Carlie Thurmond 5'7" | PG Bethlehem | 2024 State KY , Bethlehem – The Sophomore only played one game but had a strong line with 17 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds in a win.
Rachel Smith Rachel Smith 5'7" | SG Great Crossing | 2023 State KY , Great Crossing – The Junior had 23 points against GRC on 6/8 from three then had 10 points in a big win over Western Hills.
Ella Koralia, Ballard – Against Sacred Heart she had 15 points then followed that with 14 against Cumberland and 25 against Southern to finish her week.
Alli Stone Alli Stone 5'9" | SG Henry Clay | 2024 State KY , Henry Clay – Against Dunbar, she put up 15 points and 5 rebounds then had 27 points and 10 rebounds against Knott County Central then ended the week with 17 points and 7 rebounds against Harlan. Henry Clay went 3-0 for the week.
Grace Bale Grace Bale 5'7" | SG Taylor County | 2025 State KY , Taylor County – The freshman had 19 points and 2 assists vs Elizabethtown, 15 points and 7 assists against Henry County and 9 points and 4 assists against Lynn Camp.
