For Prep Girls Hoops Indiana, it’s one of our scheduled quarterly releases for player rankings, plus it’s a time when we expand our lists and add new prospects. As we approach late-December, I wanted to give you a glimpse into five young ladies who are sure to be a part of that expansion. Now, these aren’t the only players who will be added, but they are five who have stood out so far this Fall and/or high school season and deserve to be mentioned.
Taylor Delp, 2023, 6-0 PF, Plymouth H.S.
– Taylor is a long, wiry-strong, fluid, and active frontline player. She runs the floor well, and she plays with a nice motor. She has really taken off this season, averaging a double-double (17.8p, 11.6r) through nine games, helping the Pilgrims to a 7-2 start. She has shown some versatility in the ability to play around the block or in the mid-post, she rebounds by both pursuing and boxing out, and she is a nice help-side defender. Taylor has also been a steady 63% from the free throw line.
Brooke Lindesmith, 2023, 5-8 SF, Crown Point H.S.
– Brooke unfortunately missed time last season with a significant injury, but she has bounced back nicely to join the starting lineup for the Bulldogs in 2021-2022. She is a long, wiry-strong, fluid athlete who glides around the floor almost effortlessly at times. While she performs a specific role for a loaded Crown Point team, she would likely be a go-to scorer at many other places. She can slash and attack the basket, she’s a keep-you-honest shooter, and she’s a tough-nosed wing defender.
Kyia McKinley, 2023, 5-11 PF, Eastern H.S. (Pekin)
– Kyia really found her stride over the second half of last season, and she has since become one of the leaders for the Musketeers in 2021-2022, as they are off to a 7-3 start. Kyia has nice length, some strength, and she plays with a motor as well. She is a more traditional power forward, playing inside of a 15-foot bubble offensively, but she can score around the block, knock down the mid-post jumper, and she pursues rebounds outside of her area. She could be a really nice small college sleeper.
Faith Riehl, 2023, 5-7 SF, Lakeland H.S.
– Faith unfortunately suffered a late-season knee injury in 2020-2021, but she has come back nicely as a Junior and been the Lakers leading scorer through ten games this year at 17.0 points per game. She’s also averaging 6.3 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game from the wing. She will need to continue getting stronger, but she has nice length, she’s a fluid athlete, and she’s a very good perimeter shooter. She’s another kid I think small colleges will hear more about moving forward.

, 2023, 5-10 SF, Wapahani H.S.
– Camryn has been on our radar since averaging nearly ten points per game as a Freshman. But this year, she has taken her game to a whole other level. She has nearly doubled her scoring average to 23.1 points per game, her rebounding (6.2 to 8.0), assists (3.4 to 4.0), and steals (2.0 to 4.9) are all up as well, and she’s shooting a career-high 46% from the field. She has a strong frame, she’s a nice athlete, and she showcases the versatility to play any number of roles for the Lady Raiders.
