After covering the Sandra Meadows Classic on opening day in Duncanville, I traveled to Mansfield for yet another star-studded event. One downside was I didn’t get a chance to see Plano East who is one of the top teams in the state yet they were without Oklahoma signee [player_tooltip player_id="65919" first="Kayla" last="Cooper"] so I didn’t get a chance to see them nor SMU signee [player_tooltip player_id="135365" first="Donovia" last="Hall"], a player I called a #D1Lock in the 6th grade and I used the "I don’t know if you’re related to Aresenio, but you will be a hit as well" but ironically she wasn’t the only pre-high-school players that I knew would create some issues, Frisco Memorial’s [player_tooltip player_id="135366" first="Cammie" last="McKinney"] was out because of an injury, she’s one of the top PG’s in Texas as well as Pflugerville’s Aaliyah Holmes who was injured going off the previous day but here are the standouts from tonight’s finals match-up which will have Denton Braswell going against Frisco Memorial

Williams can play multiple positions, effectively yet her size, body, and skill-set were in full effect as she scored from midrange, she showed the long ball and she handled the ball to score, not only from the wing, off the dribble, yet in the open court going to coast but the LSU signee also did plenty of damage in the paint, score around the basket and on putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends
[player_tooltip player_id="202477" first="Jazmyne" last="Jackson"]-5’6 G (Denton Braswell)
Jackson has always fallen into that "highlight waiting to happen" category and watching the Grambling signee set the defender up with an explosive first step isn’t the highlight I’m referring to. She actually elevated over players and snagged a rebound and took it coast to coast to finish but she also dropped the midrange, well the long ball was there as well but her acrobatic finishes had me smiling also
Jordan Conerly-5’9 G (Frisco Memorial) 2022
Conerly can flat out shoot the ball, even the ones that didn’t go in, were in nd and out but she then went on a long ball barrage as she created her shot to drop it, she came off of screens to drop it and she did it in transition so that, as well as her handling the ball under pressure and seeing the floor was nice
[player_tooltip player_id="135384" first="Jasmyn" last="Lott"]-5’9 G (Frisco Memorial) 2022
Lott is another young player I locked in at D1 before her first middle school game and what I liked back then was her playing the passing lane and scoring after yet her first step has always created some issues as she sets the defender up nicely to either go by them or hit the pull-up jumper and her pull-up is so effective because she elevates over the defender to score and that will come in handy for the UNLV signee
Falyn Lott-6’0 G/F (Frisco Memorial) 2024
Lott is the younger sister of Jasmyn and also a track star like her older sister was yet she’s taller and falls into that "long and athletic" category I speak about often because it is the base and watching her play the passing lane off the top had me glued to what was next and she showed me quite a bit. Her timing is good on defense, she blocked and altered shots but she also scored off the dribble well
[player_tooltip player_id="158866" first="Kennedy" last="Evans"]-5’10 G (Denton Braswell) 2024
Evans mom saved the day for me when her baby was in the 6th grade as she had told me about her daughter’s team and she was right as several of those players got on my radar before Blue Star knew who they were yet I knew Evans star would be shining just because of her range in the 6th grade, NBA and I ain’t lying, so #D1Lock was easy yet watching what she has become is pretty impressive as she’s vocal and poised under pressure, she dives on the floor for loose balls, plays the passing lane and plays "on the ball defense" baseline to baseline. The deep range is still there, so is the midrange but she also can score off the dribble and finish acrobatically
