There’s always some high level prep basketball taking place in Michigan and yesterday was no different. Let’s take a look at 4 of the notable performances from yesterday’s action.

Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #23 in the class of 2024
Johnson led the way offensively for her Renaissance team’s win against Detroit Denby. She finished the game a team high14 points. Johnson is excellent when attacking the rim off the wing. Her strength and toughness going to her right proved difficult to contain. Johnson is a high level prospect with a ton of upside.

Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #104 in the class of 2022
Kerkau has had a solid season so far and she continued that trend on Monday. She led the way with 23 points in her Frankenmuth team’s 57-45 victory. Kerkau is, in a way, having a breakout season. She’s stepping up as a scorer and facilitator for her squad and is proving that she’s a threat to score in a variety of different ways.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="280208" first="Ryann" last="Locke"] (2022, PG, Springport)</strong>
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #237 in the class of 2022
Springport raised their record to 5-2 with a 51-31 win over Hanover Horton. Locke continued to be a big offensive threat as she has all season, dropping in a game high 28 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. She was almost even more impressive on the other end, where she finished with 10 steals, earning herself a double-double. Locke is making a statement that her ranking should rise at the next update.

Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #28 in the class of 2024
Thomas was absolutely dominating in a 47-31 win over Taylor. She scored almost half of her team’s points, finishing with 23 on the night. Thomas didn’t stop there though, adding 8 assists and 6 rebounds. She also brought it on the defensive end, getting 6 steals and 2 blocks. Thomas can be a terror on D with her length and nose for the ball.
