You don’t realize how fast she is because she glides on the court most of the time, but she has a “second” gear that she can go to if needed. With Jackson, you don’t realize how good of a shooter she is until she drops a three-pointer from 5 feet behind the three-point line. You don’t realize the degree of difficulty of some of her shots until you watch them in slow motion or on replay. When Jackson and Mandarin squared off in the semi-finals, [player_tooltip player_id="248563" first="Jazmine" last="Jackson"] was the difference in the game. She calmly scored 20 points and when the game was going back and forth, it was a few long-range threes that allowed the lady Tigers to pull away. [player_tooltip player_id="248563" first="Jazmine" last="Jackson"] will be taking her talents to Charleston Southern. Her Gateway conference performance will cement her as one of the best to ever do it in Duval County. Ellie Jackson 2022, 5’10” F/C (Mandarin). In the Gateway Conference Finals, the three sports star, Jackson (Volleyball, Basketball, Flag Football) put her athleticism on display and showed why she is one of the top, if not the best athlete on the entire First Coast. Jackson is really a forward, but solidifies the middle for the Mustangs and makes them a very dangerous team. Most bigs grab the rebound and kick out to the guards for fast breaks. Jackson can grab the rebound and bring it down herself. That’s where she is “special" on the basketball court. She can maneuver in the paint with her ability to put the ball on the floor and because of her strength she can establish and hold her position in the paint. In the semi-finals against Andrew Jackson HS, Jackson finished with another double-double for the season (15 points – 13 rebounds) and also had 4 assists and three steals in the contest. [player_tooltip player_id="331732" first="Indreauna" last="Bargeron"] 2022, 5'4" G (Andrew Jackson) played well in the finals and did a good job of scoring on drives to the basket and also creating plays for her teammates. Bargeron is usually the fastest player on the court. In the Finals on the Gateway tournament, she scored 11 points, had 3 assists, and recorded 7 rebounds from the guard position. [player_tooltip player_id="248618" first="Kayla" last="Johnson"] 2022, 5’7″ G (Sandalwood). Johnson shot the ball very well and was the lone standout for Sandalwood in the Gateway Finals Championship game. Johnson finished with multiple 3s and 13 points in the finals. Johnson’s performance came on the heels of Chatham University in Pittsburgh.
