Nyah Hardy dropped a big 3 for Pearland to stop a run and Lauren Smith who scored a huge bucket to close out the half and trust me, that all played a big part in Pearland’s upset victory but this was a mild upset, Shadow Creek is solid and will make a run for R-3 6A yet the Oilers could go deep as well

Ashlyn Patrick-5’10 SF (Pearland)
Patrick’s gutsy play was instrumental in helping set the tone early. She battled for loose balls on the court as well as did a good job of rebounding on both ends but she also created her shot under pressure and did a good job defending, inside the paint as well as outside of it

Ace Edmond-5’7 SG (Shadow Creek)
Edmond was all over the place creating havoc with her defensive intensity yet her “on the ball” pressure was there from the start of the game until the end. She stays alert, she reads plays and this helped her come away with steals by playing the passing lane and she also showed she could drop the pull-up jumper
Aiyana Johnson-6’1 P (Shadow Creek)
Johnson was coming off a double-double based on a Twitter meme, I definitely can see that because of two things, her defense coupled with her positioning allowed her to box-out and rebound, she did a good job of going after the ball, plus she also finished strongly after the lick. Still, her size and upside is definitely serviceable
Paige Bonner-5’3 PG (Pearland)
Bonner was my LIVESTREAM PLAYER OF THE GAME SIMply because the game has and always will start at the 1, not the TIP yet here’s a tip, she controlled the tempo and handled the heavy pressure Shadow Creek sent at her, that’s a plus yet they keep adding up because she saw the floor and made good decisions on who to get the ball to, plus she was fierce on defensive, coming up with steals and helping create turnovers

Kyndall Drones-5’10 P (Shadow Creek)
Drones was hovering over the players to “make her presence felt” and that inside presence definitely grabbed my attention because I enjoyed watching her battle for boards on both ends, she stayed with it and she wasn’t intimidated by that solid Pearland frontline. I have seen her a few times, she shows me something new each time so that upside is pretty impressive

Kayla Phillips-5’9 SF (Pearland)
Phillips was one of the reasons I was going to do a FRESHMEN watch from last night yet I was in a dilemma since some of the games had erroneous information yet her info is right and I’m also right about her showing signs of being a force in the not too distant future. Remember, I’m not a novice at this and I observe how players react especially young players, and her not being intimidated and scoring big buckets spoke volumes
